It was our first time there. We were invited by relatives who camp there every year. Enjoyed the lake as well. It is a very nice park and we plan to go back next year. Reservation we tricky however. Months ago everything was full for the week we wanted to go. As we got closer to the date there were cancelations that we were able to reserve.

As a little girl, my family would camp at Pinecrest for a week every year. Over the years it has improved greatly with paved roads, instead of dirt and also with modern bathrooms with toilets, compared to 65 years ago with just wood outhouses. I remember my mom, who did not smoke, taking in one of my dad's Cirgarettes, because it smelled so bad in the old out house. We did have bears in our campsites many years ago. These past years of camping, I have not seen any bears. My husband and I are Kayakers. The lake is a great size to kayak, fish, swim and hike around. We like to kayak across the lake and have lunch at one of the picnic tables. I might suggest putting in a few extra tables there and other locations around the lake, as it is more comfortable eating at a table , rather than sitting on a rock, especially now that I just turned 70 years. One can not go to Pinecrest, without having a Root Beer Float at the snack bar and eating at Steam Donkey. Excellent food! The grocery store and fish shop are well stocked with useful items and have outside showers, for those of us who tent camp. Many of our kayak friends now have motor homes, it does make it difficult for them to get into their camping space, as the trees have grown and makes it difficult in finding a camping spot for all of us to be together. We always enjoy camping at Pinecrest every year, and keep coming back year after year, making memories and having a great adventure!
