I was very happy to find a campsite available spur-of-the-moment. I probably would have preferred a more secluded site, but this was a last minute adventure, so I was grateful for what we had. We had wonderful neighbors who were friendly with and tolerant of our two small and inquisitive children. It was much quieter than I remember from camping in my youth, which I greatly appreciated as well. Next time, we will make advance reservation and stay for longer than one night. We enjoyed the lake and beautiful setting!

One of my favorite campsites in CA. Walking distance to an alpine fed lake, spacious campsites, lots of restrooms, friendly rangers, close proximity to Dodge Ridge, Kennedy Meadows, lots of riverfronts. Movie nights and Ranger Talks at the historic ampitheater (second oldest in the US). This year I went on a Wildflower Hike with two rangers who were awesome. That was a highlight!

I've been coming to Pinecrest for more than 20 years and will always come back. (Note: No more paid showers at Pinecrest General Store, but Strawberry Store has them, just up the road, minutes away.)

Everyone visiting, camping, etc., were respectable of social distancing, for the most part, and 75% of people wore masks. I think there should be soap and water in the restrooms at the beach or at least hand-washing stations.

Despite this being a very busy campground, we found it to be a very relaxing experience. We were in A loop. Short walk to Pincecrest Lake, which is beautiful. The beaches were overcrowded despite day parking being at 50% capacity due to COVID-19. I cant imagine what it is like at full capacity. Walk around the lake up to Cleos Baths for a strenuous hike and more serenity than the beach area. Wish we had more time to stay and explore!
