First of all the environment was beautiful, the woods were great and the lake views were breathtaking. However, the park information on the website stated that showers were available at the general store across the street, this was wrong, the nearest showers, which were good, were a few miles away in Strawberry.The bathrooms on the campground had no lights at all and the men's urinal was leaking. On arrival our campsite had trash that needed cleaning up, there are no bear lockers in the campground but there are in the day use area, which does not need them, as bears come out mostly at night, which we experienced on a cpl of nights, we stored all food in our car but bear lockers would have been appreciated. Considering the cost per night of this campground we had higher expectations.

Not a good choice for people who'd rather be boondocking alone, but not a bad campground if you don't mind people everywhere.

Pinecrest is a fantastic family camping experience. Though there are many sites, it is still very clear you are in the forest. While it is popular, it is easy to get away from other people if you want. You can rough it, somewhat, or you can take advantage of the store, coffee shop, sporting goods store, or restaurant.
