Campers next to us were loud and obnoxious with their music. The loud music definitely took away from the quiet sober experience of being in nature.

Lake Alpine West Shore is a lovely campground with terrific campground hosts. Donna welcomed us at the entrance and was personable, informative, and supportive. There are good rules at the campground (no untied, barking dogs, for example, and strict but fair rules about generators) that make it a quiet, beautiful place to camp. The lake is gorgeous.

The only downside was big machine digging out and replacing bathrooms during our week long stay, but that can't be helped.

My only issue was that some sites are very difficult to get a 20' trailer in. We got lucky and got ours in #22, but it was hard and took a while. The other complaint is not about the campground but Reservations.gov, which insisted over and over that you can't book Lake Alpine on that site, but it's untrue. I went around and around to find a way to make reservations.

Was a great place to stay, please add pictures of the campsites as ours was right on a ledge. Not great for 2 year olds running around.

I love this campground and the camp hosts are awesome. They keep the grounds very clean.

This is a beautiful destination with many great trails. Rent a kayak or paddle board and enjoy the gorgeous lake all to yourself if you go early enough. The weekends are busy which is the only downfall, but that's pretty much everywhere in CA. Will be returning here again soon.
