Great time. Sites are fairly close. But most sites have direct water access.

A beautiful park. The campsites are spacious and well kept. We went to Clemson and the Duke Nuclear Power Plant, The World of Energy Visitor Center. Also, drove up to Sassafras Mountain. The lake offers great boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming areas. The university's experimental Fruit Research Orchards near the campground are very impressive.

Great family camping spot. Early October was not too hot or buggy, but still warm enough to swim at the beach area. Nice flat waterfront sites with hookups, fun playgrounds, easy dump station. Plenty of trees for hammocks, but sites close together, so not much privacy. I imagine summer would be uncomfortably hot, but fall was great!
