Nice, large campsites, all with lake frontage. Quiet! Pet friendly. Will not camp anywhere else.Would recommend that the park remain open through October!

The park was very clean. Steve and Jennifer along Michael and Susan made you feel welcome. KEEP THE PARK OPEN THROUGH OCTOBER OR AT LEAST UNTIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER LIKE IT USED TO BE.

I found this place at random while traveling through that part of the country. Previously I had been through 23 other states and by far this campground is the best one I had come across and stayed at. The facilities were very clean. The staff was more than accommodating. Thank you very much to Walt and Sandy along with Patrick and Diana. You guys have a very well kept place there and I enjoyed every minute. Heck, I planned on a 2 day stay ending up staying 5 nights and 6 days. Just plain incredible!!! A must for any camper wether in a tent or RV. You won't regret it in the least bit...

What great hosts at Hawe Creek! The campground was clean with perfect water access at each site. Had to primitive camp at Bussy Point one night due to Hawe Creek being full.
The host offered to loan his generator for the night.
Both hosts were very gracious y up to date on the area fishing. All CoE campgrounds are extremely nice but, the host’s sure made an impression on me.

Bussy Point was also a great spot, primitive but, spread out with horse friendly sites.

Thanks!

Need to keep the location open until at least to the end on November. As it stands now I have to go to state parks to camp before April and after September. Would prefer to camp at Corp campgrounds.

The campground was a little further down the road than my GPS had it, but was easy enough to find. There was no one at the gate, just a sign that said the hosts were at site 24. Our site was large and spaced out from the neighboring sites. You could see the lake through the trees and it was a short somewhat steep walk down to the shore. Our site didn't have a "beach like" access, but we were able to get into the water from it with a quick drop. With camping comes bugs, but there were a LOT of spiders at the site. So, if that as in issue for you, this would not be the site to go to. Our site had electric and water, both of which worked fine as well as a picnic table, fire pit, counter height table, grill, and a lantern pole. The dumpsters near the exit were easy to use and not overflowing. We tent camped, so we didn't use the dump station. The place was dog friendly and relatively inexpensive. We did not see the hosts at all (they weren't at the gate when we arrived or left and the few times we walked by their site, no one was outside). We had no reason to knock on their door, so we did not converse with them. Note, the impact area and even the nearby dirt were hard packed and very dry, which was not conducive to using the stakes I brought for my dogs. We ended up using a tie out cable which is less than ideal with 4 dogs, but we made it work. And the gravel of the pull through is large rocks that can be rough on feet (if you are in flip flops or your pups are spoiled). Also, the gates were supposed to be closed from 10pm-7am, but there were vehicles driving around during that time, and one day an off leash dog came up to our site with no owner. So during our time there, the rules were not strictly enforced. The sunsets were stunning but were behind us (so look for sites on the other side of the road if you want that view - we were site 22). Cell reception was spotty to non-existent - depending on your preference that is awesome or horrible.
