This campgrounds was mostly fine but a handful of things made our stay less pleasant. The location itself is nice, with only 15-20min of driving down to Pacific City. Its Creek/Beach access is especially nice for exploring and wading.Upon arrive to our site we found lots of cigarette butts, partially melted glass bottles, and other various debris in the fire pit that had to be cleaned out. There were also lots of bottle caps strewn about the ground. Our particular site (73) was lacking in any particularly level spot so we had to deal with some slant in our tent setup. There was some shade towards the later part of the day but for the most part our site was in full sun most of the day. These things obviously wouldnt be much of a problem for those trailer camping. We arrived mid week and only dealt with some of the noise during the day of the quads, dirt bikes, etc. and the families who were there honored the quiet time of 10pm - 6am by not running there generators. We stayed until Saturday morning, and on Friday there was a fresh arrival of several new campers, all belonging to one group. The experience of multiple trucks, toy haulers, and trailers rolling into the sites was comparable to Taylor Swifts Eras tour in terms of commotion. It was the weekend leading into Labor Day, but the illegal mortars/fireworks being shot off inside the campgrounds, generators running all night, and loud music being played that on Friday made for a very frustrating experience. Especially the explosions at 2 in the morning.Flush toilets and running water bathrooms were a plus, but there was no soap in the mens room for washing, so we had to get some hand soap for ourselves on a trip into town. We might consider this location again for a midweek visit not during a holiday week/end, but otherwise well be looking for quieter sites to tent camp in.

I love camping at Sand Beach. Midweek was peaceful and wonderful, but Friday night brought noisy neighbors. Some arrived after 11 PM, and one even after midnight, struggling to back up a large tractor trailer in the dark while shouting directions. This went on for ages, followed by a drunken party. I was relieved to leave in the morning.

This campground very much caters to the off road sand buggy crowd, so if you are not an OHV camper, be prepared for a lot of noise. Our site was on the side opposite the sand dune area so it was sort of away from the action. There are no electrical hook-ups, but water is available. There is not a dump station.
The campground is near Tillamook so a fun adventure was the Tillamook Creamery for ice cream. We also visited the Jacobson Salt Co. which is a good place to try fancy locally made sea salt.

Walking distance to the beach, but the campsite itself was sheltered from the wind.
