Awesome campground with great spots that have good privacy and old growth, the only downside is no showers.

First, a shout out to the campground host couple, who keep this campground immaculately clean (even the bathrooms). (This was quite a contrast to Cape Lookout State Park, from which I had just come, and I appreciated it).I solo tent camped at Sutton for four nights in Site A7, which is reasonably private and shaded by tall trees. I would come back, and I would stay in that site again. Though my stay included a late June weekend, the campground was uncrowded, quiet, and respectful. I found a nice trail that starts next to the group campground in Loop A. I walked on Heceta Beach, a five minute drive away - it's a wide beach with a long expanse in both directions - excellent for dogs (I'd been there before with my dog before she died last September). I drove a few miles north to the half mile trail to Heceta Beach Lighthouse. It's a nice trail with well graded wide switchbacks and great views, and at the top are friendly volunteers with spotting scopes set up trained on lounging sea lions and common murre. I went into Florence one afternoon for clam chowder, ice cream, and a bookstore. I didn't get to the Hobbit Trail, but that's another option. I'll come back to Sutton and to Site A7 again (and this time I'll ask the hosts their names :-)

This was a nice, spacious campground. Right next to the bathroom. The town was so cute, and this campground was very close. There are a good number of mosquitos, so bring bug spray.

A very nice, well maintained rustic park. Reminds me of camping when we were young. I like having access to electric on some of the site. For those in RVs, no threaded water hook ups in the park, so be prepared to fill your water tank manually or bring your water with you. Camp hosts are very nice people, and the fire wood is both reasonably priced and great quality. Fun activities nearby, with dunes, beaches lighthouse and the town of Florence nearby. A big thumbs up for this campground.

Spotless bathrooms. Even liquid soap available at the sink

There is only one 30-amp plug available. If you are camping with "normal" 3-prong plug bring a converter to plug into the 30-amp configuration. The campsite is fairly private with the fire ring tucked away in the bushes. Plenty of room to set up a large tent and a nice grill on the fire ring to cook on. There is no water hookup but there is a spigot nearby.

We were in #16 with a 25' travel trailer. The site and whole campground were very clean. The hosts were very nice and worked hard at keeping it that way.

Quiet and clean campground. Beautiful area and wonderful hiking trails right from camp.

The campground as a whole is fairly well done with good to moderate room between sites. Sites near the bathrooms were VERY near--too close for my comfort. I unfortunately picked one of these to be near friends who selected a roomier site. My site had AC--I suspect this explained the close-in sites around the bathrooms, but did not doublecheck this. My reason for not rated this experience higher is that our site also was bordered by a path for other campers to reach the bathroom and what appeared to be the septic area for the bathroom: a plywood-covered area marked with yellow-taped stanchions, partially-uncovered 6" clean-outs and a nice ripe sewage smell. There were plenty of good sites, but don't take A-04.

We lucked out with sunny skies for all but one of the five days we camped at Sutton Campground, near Florence, Oregon. The campground had flushing toilets and water, unlike other Oregon campgrounds we've visited. Our campsite was clean, relatively private, and very quiet. We had a campfire every evening, complete with s'mores, of course. On Tuesday, we hiked the trails in and around the campsite. It rained on Wednesday, so we ate at local restaurants and visited a military museum. While at the museum, we watched a video about Camp Adair and learned how and why it was established. We also visited the temporary office of a local political party, where we met some wonderful people. Fred Meyer is nearby, where we bought a tarp to cover our tent. There are three laundromats with showers available in Florence, where we dried our sleeping bags after the rains. There is a multiplex movie theater, too. On Thursday evening, we had a picnic. on the dunes while waiting for the sunset over the Pacific Ocean horizon. We had a great time and will be back!

Large campground with sites near a stream or more secluded. Very well maintained. Only suggestion is for trail signs that said where the trails ended up. It was hard to find the trail to the lake, for instance.Otherwise, loved it and will go back.

The Good: Camp Host was a terrific guy. Our site was pretty good and would have hat lots of camp fire wood if not for a burn ban. The bike trail around the lake is fantastic and we enjoyed it a great deal. I can't believe there isn't much said anywhere about the John Dillenbeck trail but it's paved and very scenic.The Bad: Bathrooms have not been maintained and are in disrepair. The bike trail is also not being maintained anymore and God is slowly repossessing it.The Ugly: If you have a big fifth wheel like we do, this is tough to turn around here and even the sites that "DO" work, are a barely. Most sites for big rigs are un level or have trees very close. However, I like it here better than the RV park so will put in more effort and bring my own pruning shears for all the low limbs.

Sites are private with plenty of trees and vegetation. The hiking is great and easily accessible from the campsites.

Site was a little tricky to back into being on a hill, but we managed. Great campground :)

This is a beautiful, peaceful, and rustic coastal setting, away from it all but easy access just off Hwy 101 minutes from Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Lighthouse to the north and Florence to the south.

The site is private and wooded and was in close proximity to places we wanted to explore. This loop was removed enough from 101 that there was absolutely no road noise. We had a great short trip here and would stay here again. Only thing that would be an added bonus were if they were showers.

Well kept campground, nice hosts, clean bathroom. Had some privacy in between sites and no road noise from Loop A

Hands down the best car camping experience I have ever had in Oregon! Everyone at the campground was quiet and our spot (A16) offered plenty of privacy. The bathrooms were clean. A beaver swam by our site during dinner; the Swainson's Thrushes were at full volume during the dawn chorus; Pacific rhododendrons were at peak bloom; the weather was perfect. Nearby trails were fun to explore and there's a lot of great hiking nearby.

Nice campground; well maintained, with nice sites, most with plenty of privacy - you don't feel too close to your neighbors. Very quiet and relaxing, even though we were there over a long (Memorial Day) holiday weekend. The camp hosts were great -- friendly and helpful. Overall a great camping experience. Our only complaint is that the "beach trail" never reaches the beach; you can get to the back side of the dunes, but definitely not the beach. Would be great if the trail did reach the beach; otherwise, it's name (and description) is deceiving.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
