High water and spring have left downfall and other maintenance things that need attention especially on the trail and boardwalk next to the lagoon.Bathrooms, while not filthy needed their walls and floors scrubbed extensivelyCell phone coverage is tough, but with a booster , fully satisfactory. The bird docent was knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful pointing out birding and things to be careful of.

The campground was great! Well maintained and very friendly camp host! Loved all the hiking trails around!

The location was excellent, in the midst of Oregon Dunes Recreational Area. The campsites were mostly fairly private. And the camp host was very laid back, but informative and non-intrusive.
We only had 2 complaints. First was that the space assigned to us was too small for our 19-foot travel trailer, and far too close to the main road. Happily, we were able to switch sites, and enjoyed a very private space near the lagoon itself. But in a stay of 3 nights, the ranger came by to say half the campground was shutting down for the season on the last night. And though we would only have been in the closed section for a single night, we had to pack up the trailer, move it 300 feet and get one of the last spaces in the now-nearly full campground.
There were no gates nor cleanup needed. The only way anybody knew the loop was closed was a portable 'Road Closed' sign across the road. The experience did lessen our enthusiasm for the campground a bit. We have usually enjoyed a degree of informality and flexibility with Forest personnel.

Womens restroom was broken and couldn't use it. campsites aren't manicure, alot of overgrown shrubbery and low hanging tree limbs.

The campground itself is nice. Lots of tree coverage considering it's on the dunes. The bathrooms were kept nice and clean. The only drawback was our site was next to the bathroom. Everyone including their dogs thought it was ok just to cut through our campsite to get to the bathroom rather than staying on the paved path and roads. This was also opportunity for people to let their dogs poop and pee in our campsite. So word of advice, don't reserve spot #28.
