The campsites at this campground are fantastic. Most of them give your tent a lot of privacy. Basic services, but in a truly gorgeous setting. Great to spend the night and head the next morning of a walk across the dunes to the beach.

On arrival, I stopped to show my camping reservation to the host. She did not tell me that the bathrooms were closed. The nearest restroom was 4 miles away. Also, a nearby campsite started a loud generator near dusk, which at least drown out the distant dune buggy noise. The dunes themselves are still fabulous, and the dune buggies are not allowed in the area near the campground. Last time I camped there it was October and not crowded, a much better experience. ps, I was told that they were bringing in port-a-potties until the restrooms could be repaired.

It's a beautiful, clean campsite. Most spaces are surrounded by bushes that offer some privacy.

We would have liked to see showers at the bare minimum, preferably power, water, septic options. No showers. No pump out. There was no tag for our vehicle to indicate that we were registered guests who were supposed to be there. Several times we saw vehicles drive through that seemed to be scoping out peoples sites while they were out enjoying the dunes. We would choose a different spot next time. The hike on the Dunes was beautiful but most days we could not see the water. Just more dunes. Ok as a base to explore the area-but not our favourite for sure.

Many of the campsites are very spacious and secluded. The availability late on a summer afternoon was terrific, the location is great, and the dunes are interesting and accessible. The drawbacks are (1) the sound of ATVs into the summer evening, (2) homeless guy dumpster diving in the campground dumpsters, (3) some fairly noisy and some slightly skeevy campers (although it was quiet overnight), and (4) very annoyingly, the inability to pay on site and requirement to book online and pay the reservation fee (turns a $22 campsite into a $30 campsite). There was a nice camp host, but they were unable to take payment or even tell me what sites were available. Internet connection wasn't robust, so it was a real pain to reserve online, in addition to the extra expense.

It's clean, it's maintained and it's my fault for not checking the amenities. For $22 a night I would rather stay at a campsite with showers, that's close to the beach and has soap and hot water. I can see why people like staying here because hardly anyone was there, the sites are very private and its right by the dunes trail but for us with a 11 month old it wasn't the right fit. We stayed at other campgrounds for $23 a night with hot showers, hand soap and right on the beach. I think this campground should be less per night. Specially since the camp hosts were volunteers. So not bad but not our favorite.

Very quiet, well-maintained campground. The spaces were ample as well as secluded. No ATVs are allowed inside the grounds, which helped with the peaceful setting. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Camp sites are spaced apart which is really nice. Feels like you are camping and not sitting in a parking lot awning to awning. Road maint definately needed. Some tables need repairs. Wonderful camp ground layout. We need more like this.

The campground is very nice in the lay out and space between sites. It has lots of vegetation to provide shade and privacy. The sand dunes are closer than they appear (or don't). Have fun with that. BUT-there was no water in the campground. There was no advanced warning about there being no water at the campground, so we had to go to some lengths to get water after we got there. That also meant the bathroom were closed and we were relegated to port-a-potties during a pandemic! Also, our picnic table (site#16) was missing about half of it--apparently consumed by bigfoot, as it wasn't a tidy job. Eel Creek Campground does not deserve such poor treatment.

The dunes were magical!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. The camp spots are surrounded by beautiful trees and they offer lots of privacy. It's usually very quiet at night and there are lakes and dunes nearby for daytime activities.

very quiet and clean, volunteer host very nice, but no water so bathrooms etc, closed.

Our confirmation said potable water, flush toliets. We arrived and water was shut down, all restrooms closed and a porta pottie. It would have been one thing if we were told ahead of time there was no restrooms and water so you can prepare but what are you paying for when there are no amenities and we were required to book three days since it was a holiday weekend.
