This was our first visit to Rancheria, after having to cancel in 2023 due to lingering snow in June! Reservations were easy to secure with several handicap sites available to choose from. Our site was 58, which was perfect for our needs. Enough space for our trailer (28' overall) and good size open space on the camp side of trailer. The fire pit and table were behind the trailer. We use a propane fire pit, so didn't use the wood burning pit. There was just enough room for our truck when parked at an angle. There is nearby overflow parking however. The site was clean and ready for camping. This site has a nearby bathroom, which was close enough to be convenient without being a nuisance with other campers. Water is also adjacent. This is a very nice campground and we are planning another visit at the end of summer. Camp staff were excellent!

I have been coming to Rancheria regularly since I was only 6 weeks old, I'm now 39. This camp ground holds a very special part of my heart. It is because of my love of this camp ground that I share these opnions/critiques.
The trash needs to be collected more frequently. It's not fair for the rangers, guests and most of all bears, to have to deal with it overflowing. The pile up of food waste is only encouraging the bears to become more and more reliant on humans for food.
The piles of wood everywhere take away from the beauty of the camp ground. I understand it is difficult to get it cleaned up and that campers are free to use it to burn. But, just getting them cleaned up would not just change but enhance the experience of campers.
The rangers/attendants are AMAZING! I have always loved these folks. They are always willing to stop and chat or help out with anything. They keep the facilities nice and clean (other than the trash, but that's not their fault).
The past few years have been hard on the mountains that I love so dearly. I am thankful that there are such great, hard working folks that are willing to keep Rancheria open to the public. Thank you to all of those that are there, working to keep Rancheria the magical place it is.
