First time at Rancheria, it was perfect!! A dream site, on the lakefront and the bathrooms/water spout wasnt too far either. (Bathrooms were spotless!) It was pretty quiet for the most part but across the water was a semi busy road. We got to hike at the beautiful Rancheria Falls, less than a 5 minute drive from the campsite. I couldnt track down the host when we wanted to check in but my name and reservation date was on a slip our the site number anyways! Very nice campsite, I cant wait to come back:)

Nice campground. Plenty of restrooms. Water was high so shoreline was slightly difficult to access. Nearby hike to ranchera falls was easy and the falls were impressive. No showers so a portable shower setup is useful. Not a lot of shade in our group site, bring a canopy all sites are different.

We missed the first night but arrived early the next morning as to maintain our reservation, however we found that our site was occupied. It turns out that the camp host gave away our camp site to an RV camper since the site had too much mud for a tent. We ended up needing to find a different vacant site to stay, but the camp host was friendly and helpful in resolving for us.Overall, would recommend! Beautiful campground right up on the lake shore. It felt very private and peaceful. There are a lot of bugs along the shoreline but the water was clean and our dog enjoyed swimming a lot. We'll be returning.

When we arrived, we had no faucet water and no working flushing toilets. They needed repairs. There were crews working on the issue over the first three days after the first day. The crews were somewhat noisy. I also was blocked one day to where I had to go backwards in my car for about a quarter mile on a narrow road in the forest. The first three days we had to go to the pit toilet about a quarter mile away. Most of the time we had to use our car to get there because of my bad knees. After the first three days, we had to use buckets of water to flush the toilets each time of use and only one was available to do that. Most of the staff were welcoming and supportive and acknowledged that there was an issue when we arrived. The campgrounds were nice, clean, and raked.

Site 11 had a level area for one big tent, slightly sloped areas for other tents. Large driveway fits 3 cars, close to the bathroom, and a lot of privacy behind it as there were only two sites near by- one above and one below. Nice and sunny during the day, a lot warmer than lakeside sites

Beautiful campground

We had site #79. Pretty spacious and sun would hit during the day also has one of the best views of the lake and mountains. Restrooms were kept clean even thought the majority of them were out of service. Easily our top spots for camping. Will definitely be back next year.

Bob R. is the best host weve ever had. He is attentive and one of the friendliest humans youll ever meet. The campsites are always well maintained and the restrooms are cleaned regularly; 6:30 precisely if your Bob. Weve camped multiple times at Rancheria and Bob always takes great care of us and the entire camp. You can tell Bob loves what he does and cares about the camping experience for all. We miss seeing Joy and hope they both return as hosts for future camping trips. We treasure Huntington Lake and Bob and Joy add to our love of this amazing piece of the Sierra Nevadas.

Great campground. Great hosts. Clean bathrooms. Was quiet at night after quiet hours (10pm). Would return.

Everything was great until several of the Camp Hosts went around to all the campsites and extorted and extra $10 per vehicle from everyone. We had four campsites, and they ALL stated on the campsite descriptions and our reservation confirmations that our reservation was for 1 vehicle minimum and 2 vehicles maximum. No where on the website or anywhere in the confirmation stated that we would be charged an additional $10 for any vehicle over 1 vehicle per campsite. I feel this is highly unprofessional and borderline racqeteering. I have NEVER been charged to have a second vehicle in the campsite here in Rancheria Campground in the last 39 years.

Excellent Fishing this year. Last year was poor probably due to lack of operational fish hatcheries which resulted in less number of fish plantings. This year there was also a large number of campsite closures within the campground which also helped the fishing experience.

Huntington Lake is always a beautiful place to visit. Much cooler up in the mountains too! The campground is well kept as the hosts clearly love their jobs.

This area is so beautiful naturally. The staff checked me in as I arrived and chatted with me for a while. It was quiet and serene with a gorgeous lake walk. I loved it there and wished i had stayed an additional night. The bathrooms were nearby and were clean. I will camp here again in the future for sure!

We enjoyed our stay in our site. We have stayed here 3 times this summer. Any criticism I have is related to the amount of fallen trees, dead trees and old tree trunks lying around. It seems like the campground especially by the lake shore is being neglected. There were also many camp sites that were closed off/not available. This is a shame because I know many people who would like to stay at this campground and its mostly fully booked. Why cant these sites be available? They looked usable. The camp hosts were wonderful at their job. They were helpful and friendly and did a lot of patrolling making sure everyone and everything was good. Bathrooms were clean.

Beautiful views, campground is in a great location with zero service. Well kept and clean. Camp hosts were present, attentive, and friendly. Firewood is available for purchase which is a nice surprise, cash only.

Loved the sites and looking forward for the rest of the campsites cleared and ready to use. China Peak Landing Bar and Grill was fantastic!!! Advertise for them. Amenities are so important for business.

Our campsite was clean and the campground was quiet. Restrooms were clean, however one sink didn't work and the other door didn't lock so that was a little cumbersome. It was a great location right on the lake and even though there were several campers, everyone respected the quiet time rules and it didn't feel crowded at all. We will definitely keep this campground in mind when we camp in the future!

Wonderful visit. We thank Shame and Vikki for keeping the grounds and bathrooms so clean. This was not the case a few yrs ago. They are always so nice and helpful and look forward to seeing them again next year.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
