Quite retreat that is central to many sites and activities in the high sierra. My only complaint no water at campsites.

Quiet and cool, a beautiful area, but I was disappointed by all the trash left at the campsite by previous campers (and by dispersed campers who drove in to add trash to the overflowing dumpster). I didnt see a campground host.

Beautiful campground. Would be great if the water lines could be re-established.

People showed up at 330AM Friday morning, waking up our whole camp with a light show as they erected tents in the pre-dawn hours. Later on Friday after the campground swelled with people significantly, at midnight a pickup truck with aggressive bright white LED lights and a spot light was driving around spot lighting all the camp sites, beaming people's camps with harassing light as we were all trying to bed down - they eventually settled in site 10 after making quite a racket banging around bear lockers in multiple other sites. Otherwise, it was a nice place if not for the extremely disrespectful other campers that happened to share the grounds with us that week. Vermillion campground is very likely where we will go if we ever come back to the area.

The camp site was a decent place to set up a tent, but that's about it (River water is a couple blocks travel, pit toilets). Neighbors were noisy and flashed lights late into the night (not that parks fault). But the worst part was the road to the camp ground: forewarned it is a narrow-mountain, single lane, road with lots of pot holes (high clearance/robust vehicle highly recommended) - this was never communicated to me when I called the park for information.

Mono Creek campsite was a great alternative since reservations at Mono Hot Springs were canceled due to record breaking rain and snow fall levels in 2023. Was pleasantly surprised to see that Jennifer was our Camp Host at Mono Creek. Of the past twenty years of coming up to the area to camp and many camp hosts she is the best. Knowledgeable and informative of the area and campgrounds. She will inform and educate you on the current bear activity with knowledge of what to do to dissuade them from visiting your campsite. She addressed the dangers of the high swift river. The campsites and restrooms are cleaned on a regular basis. If there is an issue she addresses it. Jennifer makes you feel welcomed and wants you to have a wonderful experience. Doreen

I went with some friends and this was a great campsite. There werent many people there which we liked. We went to Edison lake and climbed down to mono creek which were both great hikes and didnt see anyone at either place. The bathrooms smelled awful and the stench could be smelled 20 feet away. The drive is pretty bad at the end because its all potholes for about 4 miles and we were driving Honda Accords. But it was all well worth it.

The campsite is nice, shady and clean. The biggest issue we had is the road to get there. It doesn't say on the website that you have to have 4-wheel drive or high clearance to get there, and I suppose it is possible to go in a regular car (we did it, after all, not knowing what the road would be like before we went), but the road was so full of large and deep potholes that I would not advise going in a car that doesn't at least have high clearance, like an SUV or truck. Some people made it in their sedans, and we made it in our mini-van, but the bottom did get hit and scraped a few times. More specifically, once you pass Mono Hot Springs, the road got significantly worse. The info for the campsite only says it's a single lane road with blind curves. There is nothing about the actual poor condition of the road. Needless to say, once we made it there, we did not want to have to drive the road and damage the car more than necessary. We were only going to drive that road one more time in order to leave. This meant that we couldn't go to Edison Lake as we had planned. We spent one day hiking near the campsite and then drove back to Mono Hot Springs. Luckily we found a campsite available for our last 2 nights and were able to do more in the area around Mono Hot Springs. We cancelled the last 2 nights we had booked at Mono Creek and got a refund.

The sites were spaced out very well, and the overall campgrounds were very clean and breathtaking. I will definitely be returning, hopefully having a little more luck fishing but the creek is very close to the sites. It was a great place to call home for a few days!

Everything was terrific. The campsite #14 had two tables and you can drive in your car in the site area for car camping/tent attached to the car. There was a water line beside it but there was no faucet. The site is flat and shaded so its comfortable to sleep in. Theres a lot of white noise from the wind and the creek nearby. This is the vacation I needed to be cut off from work and home chores/errands. The only downside was the road to getting here. We were rough riding it for an hour! It felt like falling of the cliff on one side or the car getting scratched from the rocks on the other side or the tire would have gotten flat from deep holes on the road. Ive driven Road to Hana three times and this feels worse than road to Hana including back side of Hana. Dont even think bringing your Tesla. There were reservations beside our camp site but they never showed up. I wonder if they must have turned around. Once you get at the campground, surprisingly the road is well paved around the campground only. It felt very remote and its 0.4 walking distance to the water/creek. There are no camp sites overlooking the water. However, the day use area does have creek front or creek view. I had a very peaceful time. Ill come back again once the road is fixed.

The drive in was as expected based on other reviews. The views are spectacular and the setting is wonderful. We kayaked in lake Edison and hiked along trails in the area. The only issues were this site was next to the toilets so when the wind was wrong it got smelly and the bear boxes were on the small side and the one at this site only had one working latch. We definitely hope to return some day!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
