Wonderful clean camp, friendly hosts. Nothing beats floating on the lake on a hot summer day.

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Quiet throughout the night and weather was great. Lots of good fishing and water was just perfect for swimming.

Had a wonderful time at Dorabelle Campground on Shaver Lake. Nice trails to hike, caught some fish, and absolutely beautiful scenery. We will be back again.

Bo and other campground hosts Excellent. Campgrounds super clean, at the peak of crowds. Would be nice one day to have a slight improvement to transient trails down to the lake. Not to the level of being paved, but just some landscape/grading improvements.

dont go here! this place is the worst. just kidding this campground is a stunner. beautiful and clean. the bathrooms are clean (although buggy- what can you do) and the water spigots are in accessible spots. ideal for tent camping or small RVs.

I love Dorabelle campground, and try to camp once or twice a year in the summer. Many of the campsites are outstanding, and most are adequate. The paths along the lake are wonderful, and the picnic tables are well spaced for privacy, and most have wonderful views. I found the staff to be very kind and helpful. Although the campground just has pit toilets, they are the cleanest I have ever encountered. Although the campground feels like it is deep in the woods, it is actually quite close to the town of Shaver Lake. I love the easy access to town, so that if you get tired of roughing it, you can walk or drive into town for a pizza or groceries.I like most everything. If I look for things that could be improved a bit, however, there are two issues.1. The quality of the individual campsites varies, significantly. I have had sites that were palacial, and others that were smaller and more exposed. This is par for the course. The site I had most recently, however, wasn't just small, it was tiny--there was no room to put a tent on level ground. Also, it was really close to the adjacent campsite. After one night, I moved from my reserved site to the one next to it, so that there was space between me and my neighbors. The new site was fine (I don't remember the site numbers, but I was in the first loop, in one of the sites closest to the lake (although there appeared to be no direct access. I t(I don't remember the number, but it was in the first loop). I think the tiny one is inadequate and should probably be eliminated, maybe absorbed by one of the two adjacent sites. 2. Kiosks blocking lake access. Numerous people set up shade structures right on the shore line, and camp there as if they own the shore. If I was trying to put in a kayak, or just enjoy the view, I feel that those structures both mar the appearance of the lake and prevent the public access that is intended. I wish staff would look into this issue.Thanks for asking for my opinion!
