We loved camping at Dorabelle. The site are clean and spacious. The bathrooms are cleaned several times a day and were always clean. Camp hosts were very friendly and eager to help. Our favorite campsite around Shaver lake!

Beautiful camp ground, close to the lake. Our campsite was right next to bathroom and dumpsters, which was convenient. Site are pretty close to each other.

The campsite was clean, the rangers were nice. The issue that I have is with the campsite location for #15. We went when the weather was very warm and unfortunately the campsite had no shade. It was also right next to a giant rock that took up most of the camp site and bounced back more heat onto the campsite. We couldn't find any refuge during the day in our tents and did not want to be there at all from 7am to 6pm. Maybe consider closing this site down until some trees grow in. It was unbearable in the heat.

We've been camping here for 40 years plus. For the most part things were great. Jamie and her husband were terrific, friendly and helpful. There was one gentleman , however, not so much. Don't know his name. He was told that toilet paper was low at 11:00am on a Saturday. Starting of a busy weekend. The restroom wasn't checked again until Sunday Morning. Meanwhile Saturday afternoon and night no toilet paper. When he did go in on Sunday he dated it for the Monday. His log looked like he hadn't been checked the restrooms for two days. Combination of youth and a bit of arrogance. There is a big granite rock that we use all afternoon and at night the star gazing fabulous. Especially this year with the comet. It doesn't truly get dark up there until after 9:00. Best viewing for the comet was 9:30. We actually have 2 people that work for Space X and it's always been one of the highlights of the trip. This year we were told that everyone had to be in their camp site by 10:00pm No signage that indicates we have to be in our campsites by 10:00. We've never had a problem before going to the rock and staying passed 10:00. Very disappointing. If all goes well we will be back! Hopefully the restrictions for star gazing won't be as strict!
