This is a very pretty forested campground which offers no particular attraction in the fall, when the creek is nearly dry, but affords a beautiful environment for getting together with friends or just getting away and outdoors in the mountain air, where the trees smell great, the stars are brilliant, deer graze and squirrels scurry around. We had a great time and it looked like other families there did the same. Apparently bears are not a factor here because there were no bear boxes. Someone in our group left food out overnight and it was untouched. Each campground area is quite large so there’s plenty of space between neighbors, but don’t count on more than one level tent pad in your campsite. On the downside: the bathroom nearest us was locked and out of order all weekend, and the next two closest ones were left non-functional one night due to too much (apparently) heavy partying by some of our neighbors (I will spare you the details). But kudos to the brave staff who got them cleaned up in the morning. Bring TP, when there are fewer bathrooms, they run out.
