Lupine is very close to the lake and has several great camping sites. If you are bringing a tent make sure to check pictures before you book, this camping area is on a steep hill and some of the sites arent level and better for someone with an RV. It can get hot in the summer and not all sites have shade trees so I recommend bringing shade for midday. If you go in the spring or fall it my rain so I recommend something to wipe your feet on, it can get muddy. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table but be prepared that you may need to bring a shovel because they dont always clean out the pits. This camping area is right across from the amphitheater on the lake and a day use area so its loud during the day quiets after 6pm and is very quiet after 10pm. Not a lot of bugs but there are seasonal mosquitoes. There are several deer that go through the site in the mornings. There are also lots of quail and the occasional turkeys. There are bears in the area, so I would not leave food out or in your tent, but in a locked car make sure to lock the car because some of the Bears have figured out how to open doors, The Forks restaurant/store and the Lodge are both about a mile away and have boat rentals, provisions and food and bars.

2 days after the Memorial 3 day Weekend, I end up in Bass Lake, CA. The Town and Campground were empty.
Lupine Campground was my base camp to ride my Motorcycle into Yosemite. The Flowers and Waterfalls we raging.
The Camp Host was great. He even came back to give me some details about the area and NP.
I will stay here again. 35 ft Motorhome.

The staff were so kind and the location is beautiful! Small campsite with gorgeous views and individual fire pits.

Had a great experience at this campground. Carmen was the camp Host and she was very nice and helpful. In fact all the others was great also. I would recommend this place.

I was told via email the campground was closed, I made a new reservation for the adjacent campground which was open yet I’ve still been charged for Lupine. Campground itself was good but communication / management of the reservations was poor.
