Amazing spot. Beautiful even in the off season. Robbie was super nice and helpful. Bring cash for firewood

PROS: The biggest pro of this campground are the camp hosts, Estella and Luis. They were very attentive, friendly, and informative. It was also nice to be able to walk to Bass Lake beaches rather than have to drive there and find parking. The tap water tasted great!
CONS: Lots of RVs and trailers with noisy generators (required to be off by 10pm which was generally followed) and the powerboats on the lake created a constant source of loud noise. We had very loud partiers both Friday and Saturday nights - shouting and blasting party music. It is definitely NOT a place to go for peace and quiet. On top of all that, there was a kids' camp nearby with a loudspeaker announcing morning wake-up and various announcements. I found myself very happy to get home and enjoy some silence.
It was challenging to find flat spots at the sites for tents - usually there was one area that was flat enough, but if you're bringing multiple tents, that can get tricky.
Our site (85) had a fire 'pit' that was basically not at all below the level of the ground and the metal ring didn't protrude high enough for us to feel safe having a fire. This really should be fixed or the site (85) should be advertised as not having a usable fire pit. Anyone burning a fire there would basically have nothing around it to keep embers and coals from blowing around or collapsing dangerously with nothing to contain it.
The picnic tables were in terrible shape and really need to be replaced. Big chunks missing and not level so cooking on a camp stove was tough.
There was garbage collection but no place for recycling to go, so we had to drive out with it (guessing most people just throw theirs away, which is pretty sad).

Really nice camp host. The bathrooms were spotless. My guess is about 65% of the campground was empty which was nice. Things I didn’t like. A huge number of spots do not have a level place to put a tent, the outer rim spots were solely for RV’s. Its super annoying to drop 45 dollars for a site and not have a single spot to put a tent, and then have to drive to some office far away to change the site. 45 dollars for a spot here is ridiculously overpriced, that doesn’t include them also charging 10 to park down by the water. No level spot, no place to put up a hammock, the tables are so old they are rotting, holes in sinks, not much shade, and massive debris trash piles for 45 a night.

Site 85: nice campgrounds with easily access to lake (day use area across the street). Camp host was helpful.

Our site (Lupine 85) had no useable shade and lacked a true flat spot for a tent.

Super hot weekend at bass lake. Not enough shade at our site until sunset. No bear boxes and bears frequent the campsite. Couldn’t buy wood unless host was home which wasn’t very often. Bathrooms were clean tho and overall would be nice if it wasn’t scorching hot.

Site 85: My boyfriend and I took his dog for our first 4 day camping trip to this spot because Yosemite is booked two months in advanced, and man was this a hidden gem. STUNNING views of the transitioning autumn trees surrounding the lake and the most deer and birds Ive ever seen. Spectacular even at night when all the bugs come out to sing. His dog had an absolute blast too! We had a few neighbors but everyone stayed really quiet and to themselves. Bathrooms were close no matter where we were and honestly really nice and tidy! There was also an incredibly convenient path made by previous hikers from our site directly to the lake! Verizon had full service the whole time as well! The only weird thing was that we arrived unexpectedly after sun down and couldnt find where to check in and no one ever checked in on us on our whole trip. We werent stressing because we had our reservation saved. Just keep that in mind I guess!10/10, will definitely come back with friends!
