Site B139 was very nice. Tent pad was set back and made it feel a little private. We had extreme rainfall the first 40 hours and the site flooded quite a bit. A stream formed through our tent pad. Definitely think twice if Flash Flood Warning is in the forecast. The campground was beautiful and bathroom facilities were nice (when open). Would stay here again.

Nice outdoor experience. A little crowded.

Campground was clean and easy to navigate and my site was clean. I enjoyed hiking from my site to Overrun Falls and back. The bathrooms were oldish, unheated and had no showers, but I knew that before booking my reservation. The staff at the gatehouse were pleasant and informative.

Personnel do a great job at a poor excuse of a national park facility. Tent sites are poorly maintained. Online reservation system is terrible. The entire park is being overgrown. Internet service would save lives Ill make a list or I just wont got back till theres a change in administration culture.

Beautiful campground, easy to get to coming from DC area. We unfortunately were next to what seemed like a scene from a frat house with some guys trying to show off to the girls with them by loudly proclaiming how they were going to get passing out, dead drunk. Across the road a toddler screamed their head off for about an hour at bedtime. Thankfully it didnt keep my kids awake (2 hour hike and didnt make it to the falls kind of wiped us all out) because there was a strong breeze that acted like a noise machine drowning out the young and well, still immature. Unfortunately both kept me awake. There were signs everywhere for bears but didnt see any. The hike to the falls is long, very rocky and even though we only made it just over 1 mile in before we turned around another hiker said coming out it was not suited for kids - she said they had started at 1:30pm and they were still a mile from the start at around 5:45pm. She had hiked it with a toddler on her back. Apparently the falls didnt have too much water then either.

This was my second time at this campground. I liked it because it was quiet and my spot B139 was secluded.

I had a very pleasant experience at Matthew's Arm. I did a lot of day hiking in the area, but there's also an easy loop that goes right around the campground called Traces Trail (less than 2 miles).

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
