Stayed only 1 night on a Monday. Registration was efficient and attendants were helpful. Campsites and restrooms were fairly clean. Generators in our camp area were not allowed; was happy about that. There were a lot of people camping. Except for an occasional dog barking, the campground was quiet.

Nice and quiet during the fall week. Clean.

Great campground. Able to get T-mobile hotspot signal to get marginal internet. Not enough to work, but enough to not be completely cut off from the world.

Paved sites for small camper trailers. No firewood for sale at campground. They do not always have firewood available at the nearby (2 miles away) store and it closes at 5 pm.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The Park staff were pleasant and welcoming - and very friendly. The campsite was clean and spacious. We will definitely come back!

Matthew's Arm is a nice, quiet campground. There isn't a large open area to play in, sites feel smaller compared to the larger campgrounds, no amenities like showers or laundry, or on site wood/ice purchase, only 1 trail within the grounds, no visitor center, etc. If your looking for a quiet, primitive campground, then this is the one for you. They do have an amphitheater. Sounds like a lot of cons but really IT IS a nice quiet campground, good for short getaways to relax and unwind in the quiet of nature.

Beautiful area, great physical space. Some campsites are quite close together and hosts act a bit rude.

Nice site but not very level. We struggled to get our RV set-up correctly.

This is a pretty campground with clean facilities and easy access to trails. However, the first come first serve system is extremely poor for 3 main reasons. 1) they allow individual vehicles in the first come first serve line to book multiple spots. One person booked 5! This is extremely unfair to the people that actually got up to get in line at 7 in the morning. Should be 1 vehicle = 1 site. 2) Campers in first come first serve sites can extend the reservation any time before 12 without getting back in the line. If you were planning to leave and want to stay longer you should have to go back in line. 3) Issue #2 leads to people having to wait hours in line for spots instead of actually exploring the park. If you get in line at 8am, you could reasonably expect to sit in your car for 4 hours. You should allow campers to attach their registration slip to a first come first serve site that is opening up and come back after 12 to set up. Once you get a campsite Mathews arm is enjoyable but wasting half a day because of a poor first come first serve system was very frustrating.

Facilities very outdated. No warm water, just cold water. Need bear boxes at every site. Very friendly staff. This was the only place in the park that had friendly staff except for the gift shop in big meadow.

The campground was a great location with foot access to some shorter trails. The rangers were friendly and helpful, including when an RV started up a generator in the generator-free zone. They handled the situation well and made sure we all had the solitude that we signed up for. I will return in the future.

The location is beautiful and the campground is reasonably priced. All staff with whom we interacted were very friendly, and campsites are set far enough apart that the grounds do not feel crowded. My only complaint is that the flat boxed in area designated for tent set up at my site was lower in the middle than the edges, and as a result of rain during my trip filled with water, so that I had to set my tent up in a rockier area close to my car.
