Our site was comfortable and secure. Nothing exceptional. The restrooms were in working order, not particularly clean but not filthy. The utility sink was in pretty bad shape but we didn't use it anyway. Electric hookups would have been helpful, but that is a known situation. Same with lack of shower facilities.

A very clean and tidy campground, with adequate space between spots. Each spot has a fire pit and picnic table. Some have bear boxes. Most sites have some shade, but there are few that are more sunny. Some sites are better suited to RV's and not tents. There are no showers at this campground, no ice, and no firewood. There are toilets and water. Two miles from Elkwallow Waside, where there is ice and firewood, but no showers. Nice evening programs by the rangers. I have US Cellular and did have a wee bit of service in Area C, but it was slow and spotty. Overall a great campground and would definitely stay here again.

Few campsites are level, so bring your blocksif you're in an RV. Trail head to tallest waterfall in Park is off one of the loops, plus a couple of other hikes. Heavily treed.

Great location to see the northern part of the parkway. Clean baths.

Great as always. Where’s the firewood at? And some of the sites “tent pads” could use a little attention. Either way, I dig Mathew’s Arm and always keep it on the list for an impromptu car camping session.

I plan to return to Mathew's Arm as soon as I get a chance, It's a great location in the woods, and you're camping in Shenandoah National Park! I brought a lab puppy with me, and we both enjoyed early morning walks when the campgound is quietest. The trees made the difference for privacy. I prefer campsites that don't give the feeling that I'm parked at an RV dealership.

Excellent camping no better no hook ups but they have dump station and water too fill up phone service isnt to bad we used hotspot on iPad to watch movies.Dan

Me and my wife have been going to Skyline Dr sense the 70s we love so much views are awesome Matthews arm camp grounds is excellent personal are very courteous and friendly sites are nice one thing that would make it better is to have hook ups for RVs but that being said we still plan on going back the best get a way on the east coast Dan
