The A T goes around the outside of the campground, with some amazing views. Staff very nice and friendly.

Great camp sites that feel private with hedges and trees. Plenty of room for a large tent with a picnic table and fire pit.

My husband and I have camped at Loft Mountain campground many times now, and have also camped at other campgrounds in SNP when Loft Mountain was fully booked. Our experience at Loft Mountain never fails to impress. It's the best spot in the park. I don't think there are any spots that aren't good spots. From those like us that prefer a more secluded private spot away from a lot of activity, to those who want to be close to the clean, well-kept bathrooms in a more open, interactive area, this campground has it all. It seems to attract a quieter crowd. The staff at the entrance is always welcoming and helpful, you can access the AT right within the grounds, and there is a camp store right across the road. We also always get to see a nice variety of wildlife right within the campground itself! Take a early morning or late evening walk for the best chance of seeing a variety of creatures.

I had a great time, hikes and camping were great. The only problems were the short hours for the camp store, closing at 5 made it difficult for us to get firewood. It was also not appreciated that the showers do not stay open past 5 either. It seems a little unreasonable that the bathrooms and showers cannot be left open after 5pm, especially during a time when it is necessary that people stay clean.

Campsite was easy to find and clean. Setup was very easy even at night.
