Beautiful facility. Modern bathrooms. G loop sites are mostly not level so plan accordingly.

Ranger at check-inwas very nice and let me switch so I'd have the same site both nights.

Ranger working at the check-in booth screamed at my my family and I for going 12 mph in a 10mph zone. I understand it was over the limit, but we were not flying by any means and the way he raised his voice at us and threatened to have us arrested was extremely u professional and disrespectful. Restrooms were closed on the first day we were there and there were no signs posted and no announcement given until three days later through an email. If there were other restrooms close by this wouldnt have been an issue, but the wayside was also closed the entire time without explanation. The nearest bathroom was over 40 minutes away. Camp hosts were very harassing would not leave us alone.

Beautiful location at the top of the mountain. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean warm bathrooms. Showers nearby. Many sites are not level. Some with limited usable space. Very quiet. Easy access to great hiking.

Our campsite at Loft Mountain was nice. The the restrooms and showers were clean. The showers cost $1.75 for 5 minutes. The showers stop at 5 minutes so you'll need to be quick. There are bill changers outside of the showers. The camp store was open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. There were deer going through our campsite in the early morning hours. Because the campsite is at the top of the mountain your campsite might not have a level spot to place your tent. Be sure to bring a lock for the bear proof food lockers that are at each campsite. They are fairly large. We were able to keep our cooler & cookware in the food locker. One last thing there are grocery stores in the towns before Shenandoah. The prices there are much better compared to other national parks that are more remote.
