The site was large and well maintained. We didnt realize which direction the road, so it was a little awkward with our RV because the site is on the left side. It wasnt a big deal, as there was room between the driveway and the road to set up the griddle. We didnt end up staying around the campground much.

We were in E134. It was nice to be at the edge of the campground. The campsites are rather close to each other but it didn't bother us at all. The restrooms were a 2 minute walk. They were clean flush toilets and well kept. The best part was the AT nearby, just a 1 minute walk. Showers were at the camp store. They were also clean and well kept. I didn't mind paying $5 for a 10 minute shower. Our stay was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Camp check in was friendly and helpful when we asked about hiking trails. Facilities (especially the shower) was in bad shape. The mens room/shower was closed completely and had no water. The women's room had two showers out. All facilities looked very tired.

Loft Mountain Campground is a large national park service campground on the southern end of Shenandoah National Park. The sites are all non-electric, with a mix of pull through and back-in sites, as well as tent only and RV accommodating sites. We stayed in Loop G, site 182- we were pleasantly surprised to find that Site 182 had a lot more privacy than an ordinarily pull-through site and it was perfect for us, as we tend to like more private, secluded campsites where we cant see as many people. The campground was not very busy, and the only other campsites that would have been visible to us if they were occupied was the site directly across from us.We found the campground to be well maintained, well marked, and easy to navigate. After exploring other sites in the park, it was clear that very few sites in the entire campground would be less than ideal- most were spacious and offered ample privacy. Most of the sites have trees dividing them from one another on three sides, and the picnic tables for the sites are sometimes located a short walk from the parking area to offer even more privacy. This was a safe, quiet, and very comfortable campground that was pleasantly close to amenities, easy access to the park, and even a reasonable distance from the highway if you are looking to leave the park and come back later. We would definitely recommend Loft Mountain Campground- after driving through all the other campgrounds at Shenandoah, and staying at both Loft Mountain and Matthews Arm, we concluded that Loft Mountain was certainly our favorite.

This was a great campground. There were plenty of restrooms and they were clean for a campground bathroom! The lots themselves were a little small and if we had a different lot, we may have struggled with where to put the tent. The sunset view from the AT was astounding.

Overall the campground was well maintained. Everyone that we interacted with both staff and campers alike were respectful, courteous, and helpful. Views are wonderful. The campground is about 45 minutes to an hour south of all of the most popular attractions in the park so that should be kept in mind.
