The campground was very nice. Most of the spots were nice and felt fairly private. The bathroom were all clean. We really appreciated having hiking trails accessible without driving from the campground. The campground store was great to have nearby, well stocked with a lot of basics. We ate one meal at the Lodge restaurant and our food was delicious. The ice cream at the wayside restaurant was also awesome! My few complaints are fairly trivial. Upon getting to our reserved site we realized it didnt have a bear proof food locker. Almost every other site had one and our site had a spot for one but it must have been broken. It was fine, we kept things in our vehicle, but it would have been nice to have warning and maybe move to another site since it wasnt full while we were there. The showers were some of the nicest campground showers Ive used. They had good pressure and hot water, but they only worked in increments of $5 for 10 minutes. I would have liked the options of taking a shorter shower since I dont always need a full 10 minutes. Overall, we would camp at Loft Mountain again if we make a trip to Shenandoah.

Loft Mountain CG has a good mix of first-come first-serve and reservation campsites. I like this system vs all reservation. Site layout is nice and CG facilities are good for a NPS campground.

The campsite was well done. You can fit 2 SUVs in the parking spots. There was lots of room to put multiple tents down if needed. I'd recommend a tent that is more "hotdog" style vs. Hamburger. You are not too far from the bathrooms so we brought our toddlers and and was fine. It's not very clear on the website if you've never been but all the campsites are within easy earshot of each other. Interpret freely.

Loft Campground is one of the nicest campgrounds my husband and I have stayed in. Although it's quite a distance from any town they have everything covered. Great bathrooms, showers, laundry room and stores that have everything you could need or forgot for your trip. Everything was extremely clean and nearby. Our site was excellent and one of the best kept secrets of the campground is if you camp around or after Memorial Day the deer have their fawns and they will come right into your campsite. We would absolutely go back to Loft Campground the next time we head through that area!
