We stayed at one of the tent sites just off the A loop. Unfortunately we had to park in a small lot and walk to the site, but it wasnt a far distance so we didnt really mind. For some reason our site didnt have a tent pad like all the other ones which was kind of strange. Other than that, the site was pretty quiet with a nice view through the trees. The bathrooms were clean and pretty nice. We spent quite a bit of time in there because of how cold, windy and rainy it was when we were visiting!

Great site, lots of interesting birds in the area. Facilities were all working and in good condition.

My three kids and I camped here for a couple of nights. Clean, quiet, the rangers were incredibly helpful. The camp store had nearly anything we needed or forgot. The trails were beautiful. We'd definitely stay here again.

The staff and volunteers were great. I have never had a bad experience at SNP campgrounds. I love that I can reserve one site, then show up and switch it to a non-reservation site that I like better. I go to different campgrounds depending on what hikes I want to take. Loft seems to have more private-feeling sites, with bushes and trees between the campsites, creating little walls. Big Meadows seems more open. I have found that I can’t count on fitting multiple tents in each site at Loft, whereas at Big Meadows I have had more space in each site. I always get the walk-to, tent-only sites, so my comments/experience regarding campsites is only relevant to this type of campsite. The showers at Loft were open 24/7 (June), which was excellent, because one time when I was there in Sept the showers closed at 5pm and we didn’t get back from a very sweaty hike until after 5 and we couldn’t shower.
