We had a wonderful time and absolutelyAppreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the volunteers and Park staff. The one opportunity I do see in the campground is better marking of the trails out of the campground area. Once on the trail, markers were well placed, but getting out of the campground to the trail was poorly marked.

Very nice camp ground. RV barely fit on the pavement but it made it. The hikes were great. Laundry facility and showers were very nice. I would come back and stay longer next time.

A bit pricey for access into the drive but worth it.

Been camping in Loft Mountain since I was a baby in the 80’s. My fave campground on the east coast.

In general, I liked the Loft Mountain campground. However, I wish the individual campsite pictures and descriptions were kept up to date. Our campsite wasn't nearly as grassy as we thought it would be, though it did have sufficient shade for our needs. Being in backpacking tents, I would have preferred a more grassy site. The bathhouse was minimally kept clean. There were cobwebs and spiderwebs in the corners, behind doors, on the ceiling, on a fan near the ceiling... I was concerned about getting bitten. I did like the pull-through driveway for the car, as it made coming and going easy. I also liked that we could just walk outside the campground and be on a trail. And I was super-happy to have clean water close by. I didn't read the descriptions closely enough and thought we'd have a bear box for our food supply, but I learned upon arrival that the bear boxes are limited to the walk-up sites. Given that I have a small car, I was counting on having some other storage to give us more room in the car as we drove around to various trailheads and such. So we were a bit more cramped in our coming and going than I thought we'd be, but that wasn't really a big deal. It did mean we were constantly unloading and reloading things into the car, though. Not everyone has a camper/RV or large vehicle. It would be good if some of the drive-up campsites had bear boxes available. One of the nice things about Loft Mountain campground was that it was pretty quiet, even though it was fairly booked. We had dinner at Big Meadows one evening, and there were significantly more people there than at Loft Mountain. If you're looking for a rustic getaway, Loft would be the better choice.
