Site A069. Nearly level and good separation from adjacent campsites. Short walk to the lodge.

Took my 6 and 9 year old for their first camping trip to big meadows. Had a great time. Kids had a blast hiking to the falls and story of the forest trail. Lots of deer around. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Plenty of water points and trash bins. Camp stores are equipped with a little bit of everything which was great . Definitely coming back in the fall.

The Bad: For couples, especially those looking for a quiet getaway, this is not the place. The campground is more like a neighborhood with campsites open and packed in close. Lots of noise from other campers, particularly those groups of young people and families with small children. People did respect the quiet hours for the most part, but early morning to late evening was not peaceful at all.The Good: Convenient obviously to Skyline Drive with its wonderful views. The store and fuel station were also very convenient and nice to have. The staff were all friendly across the board. It was nice having campfires. Running water supply points and full amenity bathrooms was very nice.

Beautiful camp sites, flush toilets and running water in sinks. Laundry/showers on site for purchase.

We called the camp host in the morning and learned that the forecast was not bad, so we decided to try. By the time we got there, it was drizzling and foggy. By the time we set up our tent, it was raining and rained throughout the night. In the morning, it was way too foggy that we had to drive sloooooooowly. We couldn't do any hiking, either. But the restroom was clean, it was less crowded and the rangers were nice, so 2 stars.
