Overall great campground - we had lots of fun staying at Big Meadows! This site is right next to the bathroom, so if tent camping, the light from the bathroom was a bit bright.

The staff entering were great. We made a mistake in getting a site near the restroom, H217, and the lights were obnoxiously bright into our site. I would not recommend this site for a tent or camper without light blocking windows. The restroom could have dimmed the lights outfacing after certain hours. The restrooms and facilities were very clean and the showers were nice if you are willing to pay. The restroom could have more counter space for toiletry things such as brushing hair and teeth in the morning as it was hard to maneuver with the one sink and little counter space. Individual campers continued to use the restrooms for rinsing their dishes but that was not the facilities fault. We have definitely stayed in rougher and less clean facilities!

This is a nice campground in a national park. The sites are very close together allowing for the maximum number of people to enjoy the park. The trails out of the park were easy to find and very well marked. The toliet facilities were climate controlled and very clean.

We really enjoyed our stay in Big Meadows Campground. We stayed in a 35' fifth wheel that is 12' 4" high. We decided to not try the 12' 8" high tunnel that is north of the campground, so we drove up Skyline Drive from I-64. From Mile Marker 105 (on Skyline Drive) to around MM 75, the park service does not keep the tree branches from encroaching on the road. We hit around 10 branches with our trailer. From crossing US-33 until the campground, Skyline Drive was well maintained and we had plenty of overhead and side clearance for our trailer. The campground was very nice. It would have been even nicer if they had electricity for the campsites.
