It was so peaceful and clean. A wonderful escape from the never ending fireworks in town.

Camp sites are always clean, service always efficient and friendly and just a great place to visit. Lots of great hikes for all levels of hikers nearby.

Nice wide camping spaces, clean rest rooms. Great views and great location for many hikes. Only minus was the coin operated showers. But at least they had showers

My husband and his family have been vacationing at Big Meadows for decades. When I'm married him in 2016 I joined them coming to this beautiful place. He and I both use CPAP machines at night and require electricity. Most times we were successful in booking e195 because of its proximity to electricity. This year, even though I got on the reservation site as early as possible, that campsite was reserved for the weeks we had chosen and we had to choose a non-electric site for the second time in our history at Big Meadows. Even though we brought battery packs for our machines and had a generator, the battery packs were not able to be charged to the maximum because of the limited use of the generators. Needless to say we did not get a sufficient amount of sleep to make this vacation a pleasant one. To make matters worse as we were walking around the camping Loops we noticed that at both electric sites e195 and the other handicap site adjacent to it, which is a first come first served site, there were tent campers who weren't even accessing the electricity! This makes no sense. It seems to me that there should be some regulation on who can reserve those sites and have definite need for the electricity.Other than that, big Meadows in general seems to be going downhill. A lot of family members stayed in the lodge and complained about dirty rooms dirty facilities etc. The bathroom's down in the campground were also pretty dirty. The cool Mountain temperatures and access to Great hiking trails make Big Meadows a lovely place to visit, but at what cost? I doubt we will be returning and will try to find somewhere else that is comparable.

The campsite was amazing in terms of location on the Skyline Drive and proximity to beautiful hikes. The only complaint I have is that none of the water spigots around the campsites seemed to work. There was no issue the first night purchasing water from a store, but then the campsite stores ran out of water. Other than that, Shenandoah was BEAUTFUL!

Convenient, have drinkable water, laundry by coins, shower. But no internet signal, shower is $2.50 for 5mins. Camping site is spacious.

I love going to Big Meadows. My family has been going up for close to 70 years. The only recommendation I would have is to make sure that the picnic tables are not so close to the fire place. We were in G207 and could not have a fire because the fire pit was right against the table. Our canopy covered half of the fire pit.

Great area! Felt safe the whole time, friendly staff, nice restrooms, we were in a tent but most were in RVs. Very fun stay!

Great National Park and excellent fall weather. We had been in the park before but not in many years. This was a rare treat with nice hikes and lots of deer in the campground. Our meal in the lodge was nice also but driving back to the campground in the pitch dark was somewhat challenging even though it wasn't far.
