Campground is centrally located. Highly recommend the Bearfence Trail hike if you enjoy rock scrambles.

Lovely campground centrally located near very nice hikes. Showers were pricey so we skipped them.

Understandably there were no campsite fires allowed due to the dry conditions, but the bathrooms, along with showers and the utility sink were closed as well. There was a full day of hard rain the day we arrived, and it seemed obvious to us that at least access to the bathrooms should have been restored.

Campsite and bathrooms were clean. Mostly quiet except one camper that came in around 7:45 and was very loud setting up. Had to go over to their site a little after 9:00 to ask them to turn off their generator.

Beautiful sites, Wish they had a dog park so the pups could run off leash. But. A great stay with very nice people both at check in and the little store.

Very nice campground. Sites plenty big for tents or small RVs, don’t expect to bring a big rig and have room to spread out, not that kind of campground. Bathhouses were clean and sufficient, shower house is nice and comfortable.

We had a great stay! The campsite was nice and level, we were able to set up our tent further back from the road for some privacy compared to the neighboring sites. Bear box had plenty of room. Bathrooms, firewood, showers, etc. were all easy to find and clearly labeled on the map. The visitor center and convenience store had a wide selection and were very useful to have nearby.

The park itself was gorgeous. First did Dark Hollow Falls, there were tons of warblers and deer and the waterfall was very pretty. We also did Stony Man the same day and the summit was just breathtaking, we stayed through sunset and it was so worth the wait, but you definitely need to bring a headlamp if you plan on doing that, and talk loudly on your way out so you don’t startle any bears (in general but especially in early morning and evening). Our second day we did Hawksbill Gap. This trail was pretty tough on the way up, but also very worth it! Gorgeous view and good exercise. After we packed up our camping gear, we drove the entire length of Skyline Drive on our way home and stopped at all of the scenic overlooks. Overall, we had a phenomenal trip!

This is a nice campground centrally located to excellent hikes. It is rather noisy in the morning when campers are leaving or the trash truck is making its rounds, but that usually doesn’t last long. It was nice and quiet most of the day and through the night. Rangers were friendly and helpful. Grounds were well kept. The dump station was a little bit of a drive but was not busy, it was clean and well kept also. Good gas station and store up the street from the campground. Decent cell service across the way at the lodge in places. Not much in the campground.
