This was a great campsite! It felt tucked away and private (as much as it could be in such an open space) but was also very close to the bathrooms.

We love to come to Big Meadows to kick back and relax. We had a great trip this year and our final week was at Big Meadows. Besides all the great features, there were three things that were a little bothersome this year. The cost of the showers had increased a lot. There was a long power outage which was bad for the lodge. We always make a point to eat a meal there one night and a lunch up at the visitor center grill. At the campground I could hear the generator noise at night that kept the freezers going at the lodge. Not their fault. We ended up going to Skyland for dinner, and we did eat lunch at the grill. An annoying thing that seems to keep happening at campgrounds across the country is people setting off their car alarms, especially in the middle of the night. Not much Big Meadows could have done about the noise issues but the five dollar shower cost seemed to be a lot. They do keep the showers clean and they are nice showers with plenty of hot water. Big Meadows has wonderful sights and hikes all around. A few minor things would not keep us from going back. We were happy to see the cabin unit that burned at the Lodge being rebuilt. From the outside it looked great.

Spacious campsites with plenty of privacy. Great location with a short drive to a wide variety of hiking trails

Arrived at 8:50pm on a Friday night- check in attendants were kind and informative. Site was level, bathrooms were clean w/hot water. Hiked Old Rag on Saturday - 90 min drive to the trailhead. Print/screen shot your day-use ticket and park entry pass ahead of time

We enjoyed our stay here. The campsites are very spacious with a nice yard for each. Facilities were spotless. Great stay!

This was our third stay at Big Meadows and once again we found truly enjoyed the stay. Bathrooms clean and showers were clean with hot showers. Laundry room clean and washers/dryers in good working condition. Scenery is beautiful with views from the deck of Big Meadows lodge and from the AT that runs along Loop E in campground.

We really enjoyed our time at the park! Everyone was friendly and courteous. The trails were well maintained and beautiful. It was really nice seeing everyone out utilizing the park and having a good time. Our only complaint is that we didn't see any bears! :) Hats off to everyone at the park!
