Enjoyable weekend. Clean facilities. Beautiful view from site. Only issue was that potable water sources were not in operation.

The staff were absolutely amazing at Big Meadows campground. Patient, caring, and making sure everything and everyone was taken care of. I cant say the same about the lady at the front gate on the south terminus. She might need a course on how not to be snarky or possibly get some better sleep.

It had been a long day and I was tired--but the lady at the gate (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) was very helpful and patient with me, and made sure I was taken care of!

My experience at my Big Meadows campsite (check-in, check-out, stay at the campsite) was excellent. The support services (Campground store, ice, and showers) were lacking due to closures on Tues., Wed., and Thurs., however. Apparently, the closures were driven mt staffing shortages.

Very nice campground with spacious sites. The facilities were well maintained, and the registration staff courteous and helpful. There is a small store with firewood, ice, emergency supplies and snacks right at the entrance to the park, and a better-supplied campstore by the visitor center nearby. The only showers are paid and up by this store, but they are clean and affordably priced.Some of the best hikes in Shenandoah are very convenient to Big Meadow Campground. It is the busiest part of the park and the traffic and crowds around Skyline Drive in the area at peak season can be dismaying; however, that crowding issue wasn't a problem in the campground itself. Wifi service is virtually nonexistent in the campground though you can get service elsewhere in the park (you can decide whether that's a plus or minus).

Parking spots were very off level. This should be posted so that campers will know to take extra leveling blocks.
