This site was not great for tents (very small flat or non gravel footprint to set up) and was shared the drive thru for the adjacent site (E175), where and RV was so we had to back in as to not block their exit. We were very close to the other campers. Not a good site unless you want both E175 and 174, then youd have a huge area to yourself!

Overall very nice, National Park Service and staff seem to dislike visitors so you are on your own

Shenendoah NP is beautiful this time of year and without crowds. There are many wonderful day hikes in the park including, Dark Hallow Falls, Hawksbill Peak, Stony Man Peak, Rose River Falls, South River Falls, Doyle Falls and White Oak Falls among others. Big Meadows Campground was busy, but not crowded. Campsite E175 and those adjacent to it are very nice perimeter sites with good privacy. Bathrooms are somewhat dated in this loop, but they do have hot water. I noted that some bathrooms in Big Meadows do look newer and it is likely that the E-loop bathrooms will be updated in the near future.

Absolutely loved it, lots of great hiking and amenities.
