The location was great! For campers who are used to camping in primitive campsites, this campsite is definitely a step above with restrooms, showers, laundry, and a camp store. Our family regularly camps at private family owned campsites, so our expectations were not met at the park campground. The amenities are not nearby and we had to drive to the shower/laundry/store area. Even the restrooms and trash bins were a further walk than we are used to, and a bit inconvenient of a walk to the restrooms in the middle of the night. There was no host around to speak to when the restrooms were in need of a cleaning. And once nightfall comes the campsite is very dark. The most disappointing and shocking point for us was that showers cost $5 for 10 minutes. For our family with a number of children, this ends up being costly. Really a nice campground to stay at, but depends on your expectations and what you're used to.

My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to big Meadows. We went to the ccc camp tour with Ranger. Carl is very informative and it was good to see him again since I have been on one of his walks before. I definitely recommend the reindeer activities while hiking in the park is fun. The range activities are very insightful and gives you lots of history about the park. I will definitely be camping in big Meadows again and in national parks.

We had an absolute blast staying in Big Meadows and unplugging in nature. Bring plenty of quarters for the showers though. I definitely recommend getting a tent site waking up with the gorgeous birds chirping all around is a must!

Beautiful campground. Great to have paid shower & flushable toilets close by. Saw deer on the way to bathhouse at night. Very quiet. I wish the gal checking us in would have asked if we had a park pass because we found out at Loft Mountain campground that we would have gotten 1/2 off the price!

Site was adequate for tent camping, with washroom and shower within walking distance. Campground was clean and most campers followed the quiet hours as posted.

Tent camping at Big Meadows, Lewis Falls and Dark Hollow Falls both outstanding trails and were flowing water. Big Meadow area saw several bird species including a sharp-shinned hawk. Very pleased with experience. Already went back and went to Overall Run Falls.

Great time with family enjoying the beauty of nature. The campground was clean and quiet, facilities (bathroom and showers) kept up well, and plenty of nearby attractions and hikes. The lodge is a great place to watch the sunset or spend quality time reading a book, completing a puzzle or playing a board game.

One area the park can focus on is trimming the overgrown brush at the campsites.

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend & the campground was at 100% capacity. Even with tons of people, the campground was still quiet, bathrooms clean & plenty of ice & firewood available. I really enjoyed having the Wayside at the end of the drive, very convenient. Be aware, there is NO CELL SERVICE or WIFI for AT&T or Verizon in the campsite. There is limited service if you go up to the Lodge. One thing I am not a fan of is the coin operated showers...$5 for 10 minutes. There also aren't any utility sinks which are helpful for us when tent camping. I greatly appreciated all of the recycle bins, even some for propane!

The campsite was clean and cozy. The restrooms were kept clean each day and stocked with soap. The camp store was conveniently located. There were lots of hiking route options right out of the campground. And the Big Meadows is a great place to see deer in the evening.
