Always love camping here, and the lodge offers a comfortable lounge with wifi and lots of electrical outlets for charging my cell phone and iPad while Im checking email and researching future travel plans.

There was a fire ban when it was clearly not a drought. It was wet and rained even more. No fire in the rain? We went home.

Big meadows is a nice campground. We got the last spot which was next to the restroom but you'd never know it with the shrubs providing a barrier. All of the sites were nice, lots of trees and shrubs. A wildfire had knocked out the power to the restrooms so you needed a flashlight. It also meant there were no hot showers, but you're camping right? A day or so without a shower isn't going to kill you. Resturant was nearby along with store and gas. Firewood sold out extremely quick. Overall a very nice experience. Place was packed for the first weekend in November.

Friendly rangers, spacious campsite, and just around the corner to the big meadows lodge that serves a yummy breakfast with a stunning view of the mountains!

Beautiful campground! Large sites, lots of trees and shade. Facilities are clean and adequate. The camp store is well-stocked, gas is available. Once you settled in Big Meadows, you about an hour away from settled communities, grocery stores, medical, etc. We really enjoyed the fact that you can hike right to the AT from the campground and hike as far as you want and then return to the campground without driving your car to a trailhead.
