Cell service was reported to be available at the Amphitheater at Big Meadows Campground. We found it very spotty and intermittent (Verizon). Other than that, a lovely campground and location. Facilities (Lodge, Showers, Laundry) Buildings, in general, seemed in need of a little TLC. Can't argue with location and views :).

Very poor experience. Smoke from the local forest fire was thick in and around the campground. Trying to drive out of it by traveling north or south on the Skyline Drive had little effect. The smoke irritated our eyes and made it difficult to breath. Our clothes, camper, and truck reek of smoke. We left a day early and were unable to get a refund.

I wish I had known that our site didnt have a bear box. Maybe I didnt read the reservation site carefully enough. Minor inconvenience though. Everything was excellent and we had a great time.

Great location, clean, safe, and well maintained. I would definitely come back.

Nice place very clean they are doing construction for the water sites are small, but doable. We hike the Appalachian Trail which was very convenient from the campground. It was beautiful and lots of wildlife. The only downfall was the showers. It cost five dollars for 10 minutes.

We loved hiking the Shenandoah National Park section of the Appalachian trail. Bathrooms were well kept, parking and trails felt very safe. Great experience for our family!
