Campground was very nice and easy for find your way around. Bathrooms are typical national park bathrooms. Had a good amount of space between campsites so you didnt feel like you were on top of other people. Staff is very nice and there is a shop to get fire wood and water. Overall great experience.

We were there in early November. The weather was cold so there were not as many people in the park as I imagine there is other times of the year. The camping area was easy to maneuver and park. The facilities were clean. We hiked a few trails and went for a couple of drives while there. Its a beautiful part of the country. We also visited the visitors center at Big Meadows which was informative of the history of the park and well done. As in most national parks, souvenirs and such were obscenely overpriced. We did not participate in any of the ranger programs but it looked like they have quite a selection of activities for families.

The camp store and hiking trails available nearby made this a great camp ground.

Campground was nice bathhouse was clean, got to watch deer coming right through the site, the pull through sites are convienent only complaints is that the sites are pretty small and on top of each other not much privacy. Also showers are very over priced.

This is a great campground to stay. In addition to great access to many trails, the campground is an easy walk to the lodge if you want a Starbucks coffee in the morning or eat in the restaurant for any of your meals. They also have a small tavern downstairs in the lodge with really good wings, but most impressive was the customer service by everyone working in the park.

I have been coming to Shenandoah National Park for the past 40 years. Yes, FORTY years. It is my all time favorite place to be. I love the peace and serenity I find when I'm there. I have probably hiked all the trail around Big Meadow and many others, including 50 miles of the AT. Favorite trails: Rose River, Rapidan Camp, Hawksbill, Stony Man and I can't forget, Bearfence (although I am not able to do that rock scramble/climb anymore). Recommend trail ride at least once.

Check the forecasts temperatures for your stay. Remember you will have no electricity or running water.

Showed up not knowing we needed reservations. Gentlemen at check in worked with us to obtain a site. It was pouring rain and the next morning was super foggy so we were not able to explore the park. Our site was perfect

Campground was nice. Clean. Showers were very expensive. Laundry affordable. Food at the Waysides was very expensive and nothing special, basic and small. Points of interest were labeled well on the road. But without the internet, I would have had no idea where to go without stopping at each trail head.

Nice campground where pets are welcome. Coin-operated individual showers are clean; bring quarters - around $2.50 for 7 minutes, which was plenty long enough.
