We have camped at Big Meadows twice and really enjoy it. Weve only been able to stay one night both times, so wed like to stay a few days and explore the area more. The sites are small but nice. Showers were pay only. Bathrooms were clean but there wasnt a place to hang your toiletry bag or towel, so that took some juggling.

Big Meadows is always a gem. Pleasant and shady campsites, friendly stuff, lots of good hiking nearby. The lodge is a great place to take in the view and just hang out. The dining options could be better, but overall it's a great place to camp.

Beautiful site but the grass was way too tall. Ended up setting up the tent on the pavement and parking car in empty site over tick concerns for us and children.

Great campground with plenty of amenities. The campsites are fairly spacious, the picnic tables and fire rings are in good condition, and people were considerate. Biggest problem is firewood is really pricy!

Would have liked a storage box at our site vs putting food in vehicle. We were in b site and close to bathrooms. Unfortunately the ladies bathroom had no lights the entire time we were there. Go to brewery for pizza and beer. Was quite and clean. Enjoyed our vacation. Saw lots of deer.

Beautiful campground. Well placed facilities. No tent pads, FYI.
Since the individual campsites are very close to each other, pay attention to the map to pick a campsite that isn't positioned undesirably close to neighbors

Absolutely loved Shenandoah and the camp ground is great overall. Unfortunately there was a very noisy group near us, playing music loudly till early hours of the morning, and nobody stopped them. Otherwise it was great.

Big Meadows is a lovely campground with spacious sites, enough level grassy areas for our tent, lots of trees, clean restrooms, and a resident deer with ear tags identifying it as "85." It's also in a location close to excellent trails. I have to admit that I am spoiled by living near a national park with a campground that has showers as part of the restroom building. It would be nice if Big Meadows had something similar, but I realize that this would be a big expense.

We arrived in a massive rainstorm and our tent was taking on a ton of water. The staff at the Lodge were so helpful, even as their computers were rebooting after a power outage. They were able to get my friend and I a room at the Lodge for the night and we had a warm and dry place. Massive thanks for the hospitality! The rest of our stay was amazing after we bought a new tent and resumed camping.
