Great location for families! Lots of open space with the one of the largest wooded sites amply trees for hammocks, and multiple tents .. we would use the site again!!! And again Only downside , curious traffic, driveway we vehicle can block most of that love big meadows

The Ranger lead activities were a must do for any age! NOTE: Confirm each activity has not been rescheduled through any of the front desk staff of the lodges. We found that we didnt have enough time to do it all (hiking, Ranger programs, exploring, etc). We did as much as we could and thoroughly enjoyed every moment! Life is short, just do it!

Made the mistake of keeping my original location. Listening to a jack hammer/front end loader and a tamping machine both days was not the quiet experience I was looking for. Didn’t stay the last night.

This is a pretty well kept campground, although the past couple of years has seen more wear on the bath houses, which look like they could use some maintenance. Also, the Wayside restaurant has become more of a food court, where you order your food at a counter and they bring it out to you. The plus is that the food comes more quickly, the downside is that there are fewer food choices and there's less of a diner feel.
The ranger staff is outstanding, and they hold a lot of fun and informative events in the amphitheater.

A beautiful, well maintained park and campground. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. This is an annual fall destination for us since the foliage is spectacular. The Lodge is a great place to relax by one of the huge fireplaces or enjoy some great food and a drink.

Unfortunely, for us, we were only able to spend one night at beautiful SNP. All was well except they did not have firewood for sale.

It's a gorgeous area. The park is well-maintained and well-run. I will definitely be back. I enjoyed a late afternoon beverage at the lodge. The wifi there is sketchy (I wish that could be improved), but it's handy to have. Big Meadows is well-located for those who want to explore up and down Skyline Drive or find a day hike.
