Nice spot to camp. Wildlife was abundant at the campground. Deer spent the night grazing outside our tent. My only complaints are that the showers are $5 and only use quarters nd they don't tell you how much time you get for it. The only other complaint is that you can't get a good idea of the lay of the land from a website when you make reservations. I chose a site that was on less than desirable slope. That was really the only disappointment I experience. Hint: Sleep with your head uphill if you don't want your wife rolling on top of you as you sleep.

Beautiful location, abundant wildlife, clean facilities an A++ experience.Stayed one night while stopping through on a road trip including Skyline Drive.There were deer walking everywhere. The Lodge was beautiful. The sites were clean and quiet as well as clean bathroom facilities.Hope to come back soon for a longer stay.

The campground is not a friendly campground. My husband and I are like to hiking and exploring. After all long hiking back to campground, the shower house is in front of campground and have to pay for $5 for ten minutes shower = $50/hr of course no one takes an hour shower but at least 20 minutes shower. I have to get more quarters for shower when my body is still have soap; got to dress to get outside for more quarters. And what really bad is those quarter box when put quarter in its not working. And my campsite doesnt have tent pad so couldnt find even ground to put my tent on; unfortunately we thought it level but not its sloped. And so we slope & slide couldnt get a good night sleep.

If you are tenting, there are bear boxes for you to use. So try to get a tent site if you can. Big Meadows is a convenient place to be in the park. Campstore has whatever you forgot!

I have a major complaint with Recreation.gov
Do most national parks have internet service? Shenandoah does not. I wanted to make a change in my reservation for Acadia National Park while at Shenandoah. Sometimes you just need to call and Recreation.gov just wants you to use their website. Do you see the problem here?

The growth of bushes at the campsite made it difficult to enjoy the site. The bugs were attacking constantly even with netting and citronella.

The campground was beautiful! We stayed at campsites 62&64. 64 had more shade so we were mainly at this campsite. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It was convenient to hav showers, ice and firewood in the campground. I would definitely visit the store at the entrance of the campground too- one side had souvenirs and one side had food, water, and tools jut in case you forgot anything. Will definitely be returning!

Ranger at check-in and Campground hosts were very nice and helpful. The people in charge of the showers/small store were very nice and helpful. Campground was very economical for a traveler.
