Nice campground. Very quiet during the night and the other campers were very considerate.

Great hiking. Campsites ok but many need grading, similar for roadways. Bathrooms were ok. Touring the Skyline Drive is very nice.

Great campground close to lodge and wayside. No tv or internet unless you go to lodge. But overall great campground. Nice spacing. Sites fairly level. Recommended. Price is really right if you have senior pass

As a frequent visitor to the SNP and camper at Big Meadows, I was severely disappointed to see the coffee company "Starbucks" in the Big Meadows Lodge. The uniqueness of the Big Meadows Lodge was the simplicity of the lodge and now that has been lost. Coffee was available at the counter where sandwiches and other assortments of items were sold. In my experience of speaking with other visitors to the Big Meadows Lodge that people appreciated that Big Meadows was truly a place where people could escape the world's busyness and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Big Meadows Lodge. Now with Starbucks planted in Big Meadows Lodge people are reminded of the world they are escaping even if only for a day or more. I am truly disappointed in this decision by the National Park Service but I am sure it was decision heavily influenced with a big check from Starbucks. I for one will never buy coffee from Starbucks at the Big Meadows Lodge.

Easy access to the Appalachian trail and trails that break off from AT from the Big Meadows Campground.

Really enjoyed our 1st multi-day conditioning experience! Learned a couple things about our residential refrigerator and batteries. We hiked 3 of the trails within the campground. Totally enjoyed the hikes. Amazing views! The campground was clean and spacious.

We love Skyline drive slow down & look for the animals- If you don't see any - your driving too fast - or not taking hikes. This place is my little piece of paradise and hour from my home

Not impressed this time around. Very unfair enforcement of the quiet hours - kids screaming and yelling two sites down, yet the ranger came up to our site 10 minutes before quiet hours. When we were told it was quiet hours, we pointed out that kids were screaming and crying all night the night before, and also people were arriving the night before in the middle of the night, setting up camp, and being VERY loud - keeping our kids awake - no ranger to be found then... The ranger then escalated it quickly saying she didnt want to have to come back and arrest us. For playing a little music and talking around the fire? (only me and my buddy, our kids were asleep). Absolutely awful. Then early the next morning, some jerk tied cans around his two year olds ankles and let him loose to run up and down the road. No ranger to be found to at least ask the guy to be courteous and stop the ruckus. Saddest part is that it was my buddys first time camping there. Can easily say he wont be back. I likely wont be either. Will find another park to visit, perhaps a state park. Ill just stick to fly fishing day-trips on the streams around the park borders...

Convenient location with excellent facilities. A bit crowded, which becomes an issue when those with large RV's run their generators for hours.

Big Meadows is an excellent campground! We were reserved for two nights but loved the area so much we extended for an extra night. Beautiful surroundings and met all expectations of everything we've ever heard.
