Great, beautifully laid out campground which is centrally located in the park. Love the walk-in tent sites.

We stayed in campsite 039 (tent only) in July and loved it! It was a nice sized area for our two-person tent with plenty of shade, making the area cool during the day. The bear box and campfire ring were a nice distance from the tent and being a little back in the trees meant we got to hang out with some deer during the day. I wanted to comment about the campstore because this is something I couldn't find information about before arriving. I wanted to know the types of foods they sold there so that I would know what to bring. I was surprised to see a larger selection than I expected, though obviously upcharged. There was milk and eggs, packaged sandwiches, bread, condiments, boxed foods like mac and cheese, and even some raw potatoes and onions (the things I absolutely didn't expect, but needed!). It is like a nice gas station selection, but with more campground related things like smores provisions, stove fuel, etc.

Big Meadows was a very nice campground with large tent sites in a wooded area. The bear boxes were great, and we were able to park near our site. The bathrooms were close as well. Had to get water from a pump near the bathrooms, and make sure we dumped our dishwater in the sink there. It was very cool to have deer walk through our campsite every evening! The only bad thing was there was NO cell service for miles! We had to leave and go into a nearby town to make any calls.
