Campground was well-run and clean, with sufficient amenities (showers, store, bathrooms, etc). Staff were friendly. Only issue was on one of our three nights a large loud group partied nearby until 4am. Rangers addressed them first thing in the morning, but not overnight while it was happening.

Great place to camp, we really like the walk to campsites which are not too far and are close to a sink washing station. All campers were very respectful of each other and many things to do in the area. Also big meadows is great for star gazing. The food in the camp store is expensive but surprisingly very good. We are definitely going back.

Camping at Big Meadows is always a treat. The site and nearby facilities are thoughtfully arranged, clean and exceptionally well-maintained. Nearby nature and hiking trails are well-marked and mapped. Online site selection and registration is user-friendly and trouble-free. Our small BSA troop thoroughly enjoyed our camp-out at Big Meadows and will be back again soon!

This was a great location. The site is within trees, but backs onto an area with a more open canopy with ferns. Deer are often visible in this area. The bathrooms were also clean and easily accessible with a short walk. Cell phone coverage didn’t work for Verizon but did work Google Fi. Would go back.

I had a great time! I appreciate that there are "no generator zones", so that those of us who are tent camping can avoid being right in a bunch of them. The walk back tent sites were very private and well kept. The campground is also near a lot of hiking trails. The Dark Hollow Falls trail is harder than you might expect, so be prepared for a real hike!

This is the 7th or 8th time we've camped at Big Meadows campground and as always it was a great experience. Centrally located in the park with quick access to the Lodge, Wayside, Visitor Center, Bath House and numerous trails we'll likely be back again next year.
As of our most recent trip August 2021, masks were still required in areas like restrooms and bath-houses etc. I'm guessing this was because it is a federal property, but this requirement felt extremely out of place given the out-of-doors environment we were in and the fact that no-where else was requiring them. This one thing really felt surreal to us throughout the trip throughout the park.
Other than that, we had a really great time and enjoyed everything we did while there.

We camp here several times in a season and love it. We especially love the walk in sites. We do feel they need to monitor noise, however, during peak visitation weekends.
