Nice campsite but WAY too many ground squirrels hanging around the campsite. They managed to climb the screen door of my trailer and pushed the handle down and got inside.

Great campground! It was beautiful here as always. Clean with great hiking and biking.I just wish more pads handled medium sized rigs better without a lot of jacking. I was happy overall!

McCloud is a quaint logging town with a few B&Bs, a beautiful church, and some nice shops to browse. Someday we hope they set up a attraction for their railroad yard (which looks mysteriously intriguing in it's current rustic state). The hikes to the falls (3) on the river near the campground were easy and lovely. Can't rate the swimming since we were there during a cold snap. I have heard that people catch trout on the river - but unfortunately our fry pan only included bacon!! Next time we plan visit the Castle Peaks (near I-5) and re-visit the Shasta Caverns (it has been a few years). From McCloud, we traveled south and east to Susanville and saw some very beautiful country. Our hope is to someday have time to explore some of the lakes that were off the highway in Susanville. Was surprised that the area has it's own "Crater Lake". Would recommend the drive down the east side, catching the top of 49 and then onto 89 to drive through Hobart Mills and onto Truckee.

The camping ground is beautiful, well maintained and there are 3 amazing waterfalls at a very short distance. Close to everything around! Love it!!

Overall this is a great campground. Beautiful location that is well maintained. The spots are spread out nicely w/ a good amount of space between them. Also, the hosts were very pleasant & attentive.

the campground was very clean and well kept. the sites are far enough away from each other so you don't feel like you are camping in a subdivision. the scenery is beautiful.

We Love fowlers and the Mc Cloud river. We have gone every year the last 2 weeks of Aug.for at least 10 yrs. The last 4 years have been getting out of control. A very large group of men 40 or so in at least 5 sites take over and are drunk loud screaming profanities all day and night this past year it went on four days. Families leave their sites, they scare small children. This year the had a manican of a womans body with a funnel for a head and a hose coming out, well you can imagine.drinking out of it. The camp hosts should not have to put up with this, they are not law enforcement. I finally called the county sheriff, it was that out of control!!! The federal forrest service law inforcement needs to fix this before someonr gets injured.
