With very small resources NPS did an amazing job maintaining this campsite. Bathrooms were excellent. Campsites were kept clean and far enough away from other people. Perfect for either Van camping or tent camping. We would absolutely camp here again. No complaints. What wonders they could do if they were properly staffed and funded! #ProtectOurParks.

The relatively small campground is great and the best part was being so close to the Potwisha day use area where you can enjoy in the river! Our site itself maybe wasnt the best due to so many holes and not that level but also not the worst in terms of accessibility. We were right next to the bathroom but that was not an issue. There were lots of marmots and two moles we got to watch in the morning and as animal lovers, this was a delight :)

We had a great time. No service at all for phones, but right next to tunnel rock and near hospital rock. The view from 180 as we came down from kings canyon was amazing. The bathrooms were warm and clean.

The camp spots are far from being level, they are extremely uneven. In many spots there is no chance to place a bottle or cup on the table inside the RV, without it sliding. Due to the slope on many camp spots, sleeping inside the RV becomes a challenge The branches of the trees on the access roads inside the campground are very low. Watch out for your AC units / solar panels on the roof of the RV. Be careful with the length of the RV. It is recommended not to drive the road from the visitor centre to Potwisha Campground and further to the Giant Forest Museum with vehicles longer than 24 ft, while Potwisha Campground still offers spots for vehicles upto 40 ft length.

Loved our experience here! Such a gorgeous, peaceful spot. And learned that no matter what time of year you need to put the food in the bear boxes. They apparently dont hibernate anymore.

Potwisha is beautifully situated in the Foothills of Sequoia National Park. The campsites are all equipped with picnic table, fire ring and bear box. The campsite was not completely full, but well occupied. Nearby Three Rivers has breakfast and shopping facilities. Nice hikes are possible from the campground. Good starting point for visiting the Giant Forest.Restrooms were clean and in good condition.

Sorry, cannot give a review because we didn't come to Potwisha. We would have to drive all the way back round the Park since the road was still closed. Would loved to be informed about this fact. Was quite upsetting, not to stay there.

Beautiful and clean campground. Close to a few hikes that are open in Sequoia. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Nice campground kind of tight. Had to back trailer in because of overhanging tree. No big deal close to b-room. Spots by river were very nice. Dump station close enough for us. Our visit was in April 2023 road past hospital rock was closed because of winter rain and damage. Bummer but no fault of campground. Winding road but isn’t that why you’re there?

The view from Site 11 at this campground was stupendous. But plan ahead. There is so much to do in this park (and it is so large), it is easy to run out of time.

The campgrounds seem passable, the bathrooms are decent. The campsite I was at unfortunately didnt have a flat area to be found. No matter where we put our tent we seemed to be on a slant. Also, while there are apparent limits on how many people can be at a campsite this is apparently not enforced. We were there for some family reunion. Every other site in the campgrounds was filled with large parties of 4-8 adults and numerous children. They were up early running around and screaming every day, and up late every night. The large family next to us commandeered half of our bear box and our picnic table. There was also polka music being played somewhere in the campgrounds late into the night. These campgrounds clearly need a bit of patrolling. Not sure if the other sites are more level or not, perhaps I was just unlucky. Quarters felt very close, maybe thats not so bad on days when the camper limit isnt abused.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
