We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dorst Creek campground, it was well-maintained, and the setting was gorgeous. We especially appreciated the shuttles that took us throughout the park and made our stay even more enjoyable because it obviated the need for a car. We took the trail to Muir Grove right from the campground and it turned out to be an excellent hike with a spectacular grove of Sequoias at the trail end, a fitting finale to our stay at Dorst Creek.

I camped with my family at Dorst Creek Campground in Sequoia late this past summer. We had a great time. The camp sites are spacious, and our neighbor campers were all friendly and hospitable. I also liked that a Park Ranger walked through the campground and gave us the opportunity to chat and ask questions. We plan to visit again soon as Sequoia is so beautiful and there is so much to see. Overall, it was a great summer experience.

A nice campground. Shuttle bus is definitely helpful. Choose your campsite carefully!
There are some with very little level ground!

The campgrounds were clean as well as the bathrooms. Our campsite was flat and it worked well for our pop-up trailer camper.

Beautiful campground, most of the campsites are well spaced, many are flat. The staff at the entry building were very vague about any open spots and how to reserve them. Several other campers had the same concern about the staff giving unclear answers about open camp sites. We saw bear and deer in the campground.

spent a couple tent camping nights in late August at Dorst Creek and had a nice time.....had a visit in evening from a bear when neighboring tents left their smores ingredients on top of bear box, instead of in it. shuttle to park was incredibly convenient to visit all the points of interest and hiking trails.

We camped at Dorst before we had kids a dozen years ago and were excited to bring the kids for their first stay in August of 2019. Even with the number of campsites at Dorst, the way the loops are set up it never felt crowded. We spent our time hiking and playing along the creek and participated in ranger talks at the amphitheater. We had a wonderful time and will be back!

Great campground. I've been coming to this area for for 35 years and it is still an awesome experience. Lot's of great hikes within within a short distance as well.

I returned to Dorst after almost 20 years and found that was almost exactly the same! Thank god! The campground was well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. The park seems to be holding up quite well despite the years and growing traffic, which is encouraging for the future. I am looking forward to returning sooner than 20 years this time.

The campsite was very clean and the free shuttle was very useful. It was very near the main area without being to busy. I would highly recommend it for the trips to the main treks.

Amazing campground. Very close to Lodgepole where you can take a free bus to see General Sherman. This campground has a trail you can take that has a small water spot to swim in. I will be coming back!

Most of the campsites are nicely spaced, with enough vegetation between to give some privacy. We think Site 047 in Loop B was one of the best. Our photos are available at http://photos.vacationlovers.net/albums/sequoia-national-park-1/ The campground is quiet, and at the west end a trail leads to the Muir Grove of Sequoias. The free park shuttle stops at several locations within the campground, and it is the best way to visit the highlights within the National Park.

Beautiful, quiet, easy access into the heart of the park. Lovely Ranger talks as well.

The campground was very crowded but we had a good time there. It is close to Lodgepole visitor center and Stony creek lodge (gas available here). The keeping the restrooms clean was challenging with the crowds. Bears came through the campground every night so be sure to use the bear boxes. My only complaint is that we have a small travel trailer and the site was advertised as "Slight Grade" and it was not what I would consider slight. I was able to get into the site and get level but it took every leveling block I carry plus some wood. We visited the visitor center, crystal cave, and did a few nice hikes. Utilizing the shuttle bus allowed some one way hikes as well.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
