We enjoyed this site despite being a little too close to neighbors. There's a nice little brook that is next to it with a spot to hang your hammock. There is a fresh water faucet about 30 steps away, as is the dumpster. The firepits here are much higher than in Yosemite though, which I didn't like. One warning is for those pulling a trailer. Ours is 23.2 feet long, pulled by an extended cab Chevy Silverado, and we had a heck of a time backing in. Took us around an hour and a lot of stress to get it right. If your trailer is more than 22 feet, I would pick another site. Motorhomes won't have this problem. On the plus side, the site could easily accommodate both our trailer and truck after we finally got it in there.

Beautiful campground but the spaces are very narrow with concrete poles on either that make it difficult to park: no room for error and it was hard to park when we arrived and it was dark out. Otherwise, this campground is fabulous. New vault toilets were kept very clean and well stocked by the fabulous campground host we had in early September. I would recommend this campground to anyone! Central to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Campsites are well spaced.

We loved Stony Creek campground. It is in such a convenient location. Our only issue was with our camp site. Recreation.gov says it is an RV or tent site and it was long enough for our 29ft travel trailer.
This campground is really only for tent camping. There are concrete posts lining the roads and surrounding each RV camping spot making it difficult to park. Each space was really made to park a car and keep you from driving on to the tent site, nothing more.Do not consider this campground unless you are tent camping.
