Princess is right in between the visitor and center and Hume lake so that was great. Lots of great trails before and after the campsite.

Excellent camp, great location within the park. Well maintained.

Princess campground is very nice and tranquil, away from the hustle and bustle of some of the campgrounds closer to the sequoia groves. There is no available water at this campground so make sure to bring enough for your stay. There is a beautiful meadow to walk around and only a couple of miles to Hume Lake. We had our own port-a-potty, so I cannot comment on the vault toilets, but I am never a fan of them so I come prepared. We stayed in spot #69, which was really nice and roomy. The area where your tent goes is in the sun during the day, but that's good to warm it up for the nighttime. Also there are couple of trees to hang your hammocks.

This was our first time going to Hume and needed a location to stay. Hume is booked months in advance but we were pleasantly surprised with Princess Campground. We loved how clean everything was and how friendly and welcoming the staff was with us. Bathroom was close enough to let the kids go on their own and be able to keep an eye on them. You will hear some traffic noise but nothing unbearable. We enjoyed just being able to sit back and relax and look forward to going again.

We stayed in site 69 with a 15’ trailer. Nice privacy. Good combo of sun and shade. Enough room for extra car. Tent spots aren’t that great (not so level) in the spot. Bathrooms clean. Hosts present about 50%. Only real downside is that the highway is visible and a tad loud. Gets nice and quiet at night though.

The campground is beautiful with large trees and large stumps. Plenty of space in YELL loop on the outside, more crowded to the inside of the loop. The mosquitoes were minimal and flies weren’t bad, but there hasn’t been much rain. The bathroom was clean and had toilet paper. The water spigot area was clean. Wood for the fire available from campground host. Road noise was clearly heard on this loop.

Campground etiquette was lacking. A child yelled repeatedly and periodically through the night. Teenagers walked by at 5:30 am slamming sticks while talking loudly. Quiet hours were not observed until other campers called out to stop talking loudly. We left after two sleepless nights.

The location is fairly central to main “attractions”. Trail parking lots were full early so you needed to be an early riser. Trails were wall-to-wall people by 10 am. Mist Falls Trail smelled like marijuana smoke in the afternoon as we descended after walking to Lower Paradise. Not sure how it was anyone’s idea of smart to smoke anything in a dry forest, but I guess the National Parks have completely lost their ability “to preserve unimpaired” “for future generations” as stated in their mission statement. We did not see a single ranger during our stay.
