I loved the spot we were in so quite didnt feel overcrowded everything was spaced out perfectly. The bathrooms were very clean we have no cell service (atnt) which honestly was my favorite part. My kids had a blast. The spot is perfect to me felt like we were in middle of everything definitely going to book here again

We enjoyed our time at site #60. There are some neighbor spots not too close to the north of the site. The space immediately adjacent on the south is basically an empty space making for a buffer with the next site. Nice old sequoia stump in that spot to look at. Behind the spot is a little bit of a gradual hill, bit no neighbors close.

Facilities were nice.

I have mixed feelings about this campground. PROS: By comparison, it's one of the best laid out campgrounds in the region (compared to Azalea, Sunset and Hume), with plenty of space in each site (most of them) & easy to navigate loops. The huge sequoia stumps are cool & the meadow is gorgeous & accessible. However, not all sites are created equal. We loved most of the sites on the outer 'Shining Cloud' loop; any of them from 29 to 49 would be great for tent camping & relative privacy - & some are level enough for small travel trailers or campers. Especially 39 for a camper. The bathrooms are well maintained & don't smell too bad. Water is easily accessible. If we returned, we'd stay at site 46 or 49 - HUGE & beautiful with lots of privacy bordering the meadow. Both do require a bit of a walk down from your car with gear but in my opinion it's worth it. The camp hosts are kind and caring. CONS: Our site #60, although large, was overlooked by other sites on all sides & we had a hard time finding a level place for pitching the tent without being right on the road. We wound up pitching it behind the big tree stump. It's also a hot site with little shade (it was hot in the daytime). Some sites offer better shade than others. It's a NOISY campground with partiers, late night arrivals (people setting up well after midnight on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed) & we had neighbors who played loud music after quiet hours. While the camp hosts did talk to them about quiet hours & off-leash dogs, the hosts are ultimately ineffective because they're unavailable after 8 pm when you need them the most. Like many have said, they're very kind but sadly, the "do not disturb after 8 pm' sign is loud and clear. In 4 days, we only saw a ranger patrol once. People run generators a lot & past quiet hours. There are TONS of yellow jackets & biting flies. No firewood for sale here so be prepared. Bottom line: we left a day early & likely won't return.

Overall our experience was great. We appreciated the camp hosts attention to the sites. Would have given 5 stars had our site been cleaner when we arrived. We picked up lots of trash/water bottle caps and left it better than we found it.
